Hi,Which cms to choose for ecommerce website?Should i go with opencart ?

I would probably go with either Woocommerce or Prestashop.

I would probably go with either Woocommerce or Prestashop.

The problem with prestashop is that there is no free modules available to download. So less features than opencart.

The woocommerce is i think for small businesses as i really dont like wordpress. As wordpress gets slow when we install so many plugins. And i think ecommerce site needs to many plugins so i prefer to use custom ecommerce cms than wordpress.

That CMS completely depend on your need.

Rule of thumb:

If you have less than 100 products, go with woo commerce
If you have less than 300 Products, go with opencart
For any thing more that 300 product, choose magento.

[*Though, i know people who have more that 1000 products in woo commerce site with no problem]

Just use magento community edition. Its free and tons of themes and plugins and forums. And is the only one that allows you to scale properly

Another vote for Woo.
Don't really know why anyone would say you need many plugins for Woo. Runs fine out of the box.
Sure, you can add many plugins but good hosting and caching work wonders for the speed of you site. Just don't use hostgator or any of those cheap hosts....

I run multiple sites on WooCommerce with many thousands of products per site.
