I recently discovered a service called widgetchimp. It looks like a good tool, wondering if anyone has experience with this or has and recommendations for me.

Yeah I use it. Definitely worth the 9.99 a month. I find a few things here and there that don't work and never get fixed. But overall it's pretty damn good and I use it on all my listings.

Some people may say get a template made youself for one off cost. But tbh if I ever want to make changes and try new things (and I did this a lot at the start, and now every so often), I can literally change all my listings at once with ease if I need too, by just changing it on the widgetchimp website. If you go the cheaper route and use your own template, you'll probably create a lot more hassle. And I just see the 9.99 a month as a business cost worth paying, it does what it needs to do.

For example if you don't know how it works, every listing that is using that specific widgetchimp template, will change when you update the template on the widgetchimp website.

For my dropshipping business I have around 200,000 listings up, and they all use the same widgetchimp template. And I can easily change the look of all of themin an instant, whether it's adding new boxes/widgets, deleting old boxes/widgets, or changing the wording, and have done so many times without much hassle at all. I can't really think of an easier way to change all your listings quickly and effortlessly.

But on the flip side, one thing I've personally noticed on ebay, is having a great looking listing doesn't really make too much of a difference to sales imo. I think people look at feedback and price 100 times more than how good your listing looks. I've seen people have great success with just basic text listings, some text formatting, and 1 picture. So in other words, people will buy from you even if your listings of basic quality, as long as the product price and demand is good.

With that many items, I am assuming you dropship from amazon and/or other retailers? If so, what software do you use to list the items? I started the trial version and I cannot get it to work with the listing software I have (hydra lister). When I copy and paste the html code into the software it gets screwed up.

Also, What few things that you mentioned don't work?
