Hi

Having never had any domain or hosting before,i would like your experienced advice on who i should consider as a reputable and reasonably priced domain and web host.

Also help on best places for cheap domains.....

To all the senior IM'ers, where are you looking for the best deals right now?

Keep your domain names and your hosting with separate companies (don't put all eggs in one basket). Have names @ various cheap but reputable registrars, and the sites hosted with various hosting accounts @ other companies.

Other specifics depend on your needs.

For cheap domains, you can look for coupons or promotions from godaddy, namecheap, name dot com, enom, etc. internetbs is very good, I don't think they ever really do promo codes, partially because you get free whois privacy for as long as your name is with them.

Do not use 1&1 for anything. Ever.

For white hat activities I would say:

registrar: godaddy.com
web host: site5.com

Godaddy is cheap and easy. Plenty of coupons

Lots of cheap hosts. Find copon. For one. No more then 10 a month for unlimited domains and be.

i would use namecheap for the domain names. I am not a fan of godaddy.

as far as hosting I would use hostdime or hostgator.

best of luck to you.

I've been using hostgator for a few years now, there customer service base is excellent, in my opinion as well as their hosting. If you decide to sign up you can get the first month for 1cents with this coupon code: 10holiday1211 or get 25% with this code: 25holiday1211
