Wonder what the best option (up time and price) is for a dedicated server? I need one for my e-com site. I was looking at godaddy and hostgator...as they are really the only ones I am familiar with. Are there any other options? Thanks in advance!

I'm really looking for a large reputable company in the US, but I appreciate your offer. This is for a corporate site.

try webhosting199 and see if you like what they have to offer.

Try Hostings House, reach by putting the same term Hostings House on G. Affordable packages with 98.8 uptime. You can gaze for package information or you can PM me as well...

Aspnix.com and atom-hosting.com are good dedicated server providers which I'd recommend you to use if you are interested in getting quality and stable dedicated servers.
All works fine with them and prices are reasonable.

To OP

I would like to suggest you to compare Hostgator Linux Dedicated Server packages with Softlayer, Rackspace, Singlehop, and Lunarpages.

I would also like to nominate my hosting company, but we do not offer unmanaged servers, however, as a customer you will get root access to your server. If you have any interest in our services, you can contact us via Live Chat.

I am with Future Hosting now, but i wish I would have gone with one of the above aforementioned companies. There customer service is slow and they only offer managed services on the CentOs. Not anything else. But they have fair prices compared to everyone else.

Used a Bunch Of Hosts

but now with WiredTree -- I use the code doublemyram - for free upgrade in RAM

I would read WebHostingTalk before using any Host - and it's obvious that some people in this thread
are just promoting their own hosting -- so again do your research

because bad service and downtime really hurts your pocket.

All the best.

Big companies are SoftLayer (ex. ThePlanet) and iWeb but they are not the cheapest. SoftLayer is basically a top tier provider for a bunch of smaller hosting companies. There's also MediaTemple but i think it is overpriced.
