I have always been a fan of squidoo and have made a bunch of lenses that gets decent traffic that are converting to sales.

Since their new TOS and squiddon't rules which is fucked up... which basically says you can't sale anything, what are the best web 2.0 properties that ranks high in google and has a nice look to it? Apart from hubpages...

I'm currently trying to build a 15 spoke linkwheel but can't make up my mind which property should be in the center, should I point it all on an ezinearticle?

Thanks in advance...

Yes, but according to their rules now, you can't build a lens on a specific niche topic:

--Pharmaceutical, drug, and diet aid reviews and diet pill sales. (Examples: Viagra, Hoodia Gordoni, Penis Enlargement pills, acai berry etc) Plus whatever the latest miracle cure drink happens to be, and affiliate/salesy lenses thereof.

--Yes, weight loss and dieting lenses are far more often spam than good--especially when they're selling something, or promoting an affiliate site. Acai berry reviews have earned a rotten reputation elsewhere on the web, for example, and that's seeping into Squidoo as well.

--Ebooks and affiliate programs for "medical cures." This means yeast infections, PE, snoring, hair loss, augmentations, asthma miracle cures, etc. Of course we hope all our visitors are in good health, and we'd love to rid the world of toe nail fungus, too. but 99 times out of 100, lenses about ebooks and affiliate programs selling medical cures are awfully scammy...

--Likewise for help with my love life. If getting my ex back (who might be gone for a reason) requires paying $29.99 for a PDF, I have to say no.

--Affiliate lenses promoting other affiliate programs. Go figure. (For example, the Yuwie affiliate network has been spamming Squidoo with the same content, thousands of pages a week, for a while. So, they've earned their way onto our SquidDon't list. If you've got a Yuwie lens, chances are it will get shut down. Sorry).

I can't even build a lens with the main keyword in it which is pretty much fucked up...

So any alternative web 2.0 properties out there?

May be for the niche that you are targeting is forbidden but other niches are welcome or I am wrong?

Yes, that is why I am looking for an alternative for squidoo for the niche I am targeting....

Does anyone can recommend one?

My "top ten list of best surveys" lens got the big boot today. Along with a bunch of other similar type lenses. It was up for about 3 months then BOOM, gone. Made a few bucks on it but no more.

Another way to skirt around Squidoo's touchiness about 'spam niches' is to set up some 'lateral' marketing, i.e., lenses that directly relate to a target niche, without being that niche. Selling burgers? Set up a lens about french fries, which points to your site about burgers. Maybe an exercise lens can be created, that credibly links to a diet blog. And so on.

from what I've seen, the big problem is even the related niche (Frenchfries) is untouchable as well, and the closest you can possibly get is "how to farm potatoes"...which is pushing FAR from the original source, and pretty much useless at that point unless your happy with just getting a non-related backlink to whatever your trying to push

You can try something similar, but be careful and very creative with it. I made a lens recently that was about how to set up your computer to be a media center, but linked to a squeeze page about movie downloads. It still set up some alarms.

If you get by the lens creation filters but you get caught right before you publish, your lens gets checked by a human. If it fails, ALL your lenses get locked. So if you want to take a chance make a dummy account first to test it out.

Whoa you guys are interpreting the TOS all wrong. Think about it. If you set up a lens that is specifically to promote a product you are going to get the big boot. Try making a lens that gives the reader some good info then fit your product in.

I have a lens that was flagged for manual review a couple days ago. That lens is pointing to 3 different clickbank products. They looked it over and gave me the go ahead. Because i had some content that added value to my readers. There is no value in a lens that says. "Hey buy this product because I said so." That is one of the worst ways to get sales. There are so many people on the net doing this with web 2.0 its rediculous. Come on guys add some damn value to your lens.

not sure about everyone else, but the big issue for me is I cant even get to the step your talking about.

When setting up my hub, the niche im currently targeting is COMPLETELY unallowed from waht I've seen. 20+ Keywords and it throws flags up every time. Even when trying to branch out (ie instead of "the best V6 engine" you go to "The fastest models of cars") it STILL stops me dead in my tracks.

Your talking about hub pages, I was talking about squidoo lens? I think thats where we are not communicating well. Hub pages is way more strict with its spam filtering. Its almost impossible to post anything there.

We are talking about squidoo lens only.
By the way how many lenses are good enough to promote one url on squidoo?

Hello brchcar1445,

Haven't seen you here in a long time...

My problem is similar to Dragn. I have a bunch of keywords that i am targeting for and to build lenses for them. But I can't even start building a lens with these KW as it is a topic that is against squidoo's TOS and no it is not adult content.

I am more in the women's health niche and they would not allow it! All of my previous lenses have quality content and I am planning to build a few more with these KW but squidoo won't allow it... Any KW with yeast infection in it that won't allow it which sucks...

Armin has given a pretty decent list.. However since you are trying to build a 15 spoke linkwheel you would need more sites.. Here is a site that you can use to pick some cool web2.0 sites

Code:
http://www.go2web20.net/
Hope you find some decent sites to work with..
