Best (current) auction sniping service/software

I am taken aback by the number of auction sniping services/software available. Many of them seem outdated an no longer backed. What is the most effective way to snipe auctions, especially against other snipers. Is it a service or software which will be most useful? And which one? I see baygenie was held in good regard but it seems their last updated killed the usability of the software. Thanks.
