Best Crypto Payment Gateway for Custom Website (Not WordPress)?

Hey folks
I’m building a crypto-only payment system on a custom-built site (not WordPress), and I’m looking for a solid gateway.


Already tried:
Cryptomus – blocks countries
Alfacoin – no auto-convert to USDT


Ideally looking for something that:
Supports global payments
Can auto-convert to USDT
(Bonus) Sends funds directly to my wallet like MyCryptoCheckout does on WordPress


Any suggestions? Appreciate the help!

You shouldn't knock Cryptomus for blocking countries. They are a legitimate crypto payment service that works with legal entities in the US, EU, UK, etc., so they are obligated to comply with sanction lists (OFAC, EU sanctions list, etc.).

Even if you find a gateway that ignores these sanctions and you start getting crypto from Iran or North Korea, your own site will likely be blocked due to secondary sanctions. This is especially true since you want to use USDT. Almost all payment gateways process stablecoins through centralized exchanges (CEXs) like Binance, Kraken, Coinbase, or OKX. These CEXs comply with sanctions and trace the entire transaction chain from the customer's wallet to yours. You will get flagged.

However, a pure on-chain solution might work for you: accepting crypto directly without intermediaries (like BTCPay Server, automated with nodes and scripts). The only catch is you'll have to set up your own bot to handle the conversion to USDT via a DEX.

I’ve been using NOWPayments for this and I'm satisfied with that.; it can be used to checkout anywhere in the world, can convert the incoming crypto to USDT automatically and can forward on funds direct to your wallet through an API call. Coinbase Commerce is also strong, with it being available globally and has settlement into USDC, although it doesn’t have native auto-convert support to USDT.

If you prefer to self host for complete control, you can accomplish the same thing with BTCPay Server and a liquidity provider such as Swapzone or 1inch for payment routing and wallet integration, and the ability to deliberate on-chain to USDT. All of these options integrate via straightforward REST or JavaScript APIs, so you can keep a completely customized checkout flow without depending on WordPress plugins. All three are designed to be compliant without getting in your way, so that you can focus on building your product rather than navigating regulatory complexities.
