Best computer under $500 for IM and its programs?

Looking to buy another computer.... ready to go right out of the box. I used to build my own computers but I dont have time to, nor time to do much research.

any ideas of the best PC under $500? Will be 100% used for IM and running IM programs.


any suggestions?

I would suggest eBay. Very competitive deals on there for some of the best computers. You could probably get 2-3 DECENT towers powerful enough to run most IM programs for ~$500 and pick up some CHEAP monitors for another ~$20 each.

For running IM programs and whatever other IM stuff you do it would not take that much time to research parts to build a simple computer. Build your own you know you could spare that much time and you won't regret it.

I'd say buy a standard spec tower or laptop, and jack the RAM at 4 gig minimum, then you'd do fine.

How does that take long? Just order the parts in some webshop, let them assemble it for <$50,- and get it send to you.

People buying prebuild PC's are honestly semi retarded, $800,- should always get you a BEAST of a PC.

unless your building a gaming rig or something then your really not saving money by building your own. As someone said look on ebay or even craigslist, 500bucks aint gonna get you much of a computer if your buying all the parts to build it. especially if you need an OS, thats 100 bucks itself. so just see what people have to offer on ebay or cl.

I agree. Find a PC that is expandable to 4GB of RAM. Get a list of these PC's and see which one fits your price range.
