guys. i am planning to create a website.
the idea is to share travel . or fuel share..
Like , people are gonna share their ride, take lift, share fuel and share trips and tours ,
i can do good with WP, jooomla, drupal etc.
But tellme what CMS is gonna work best for it?
Any spacific CMS for the job?
Please help

Which one are you most comfortable working with?

If you don't have experience with any, I think WP would be a good place to start. It has the biggest user-base so there will be plenty of information on any problems you run into along the way.

Good luck.

well, it is gonna be quite hard in WP to create somthing in which user can post their proposal, or , their request.

I hate it when people call Wordpress a CMS. It's a blog platform that has been hacked to give more general CMS-like features. Go for Joomla or Drupal or something. The site you want to create is nothing like a blog and you'll spend longer messing on with Wordpress than it would to build the site anyway.

Wordpress.... you can find a lot of additional plugins, change everything, and easy to customize....

WP is very easy to get started, but if you need a kind of big site, go for Joomla

anything else, which could do things for me easily?
anybody aware of such script ?

I have to agree with crackpie, wordpress is blogging software not cms - it's pretty good, but the framework does have restrictions in my opinion.

Personally I always recommend cmsmadesimple - look it up but don't get it confused with cmsimple.

It's a brilliant cms, runs best on Linux but can also be deployed on windows. It is database driven, it completely separates template, content and CSS, it's easy to completely customise, you can convert an existing site into it and there are loads and loads of modules you can attach to the core that give specific functionality .

It also has a good following, good forum very helpfull people, also has a large paid support network so for large projects there are developers that will customise modules to suit your needs.

But what modifications are needed in order to make it more like a Fuel sharing thing.
i mean people must hav to post ther ads.

I suppose you would need some sort of posting system whereby users could post a route that they're willing to share and then others could search it?? It would be a cross between a forum and a social network I suppose.

I would say take a look at the available modules at cmsms there's bound to be one that's suitable there.

If you get stuck, post back here.

DRUPAL
go to drupal.org forum in the showcase topic and you will find hundreds of specialized social sites. your probably will have to use the "views, and cck" modules to customize your fuel share idea.
