Hi, apologies if I've not used the correct terminology there but I was wondering what you all have found to be the best method to improve click through rates from your site to merchant sites?

For example on my review pages I tend to use either anchor text (e.g. click here to check price) or sometimes I will build custom buttons with a 'Buy Now' or 'Check Price On Amazon' label which then redirects.

I have toyed with the idea of switching to banner types like the following, but can't decide if they look spammy or not...

Anyone found one that converts better than the other?

Thanks.

i always found it best to mention amazon as it's a trusted brand, so " check price on amazon " is better.

Nobody can give you a decisive answer to that. Itight work for you and not for me and vice versa. It's all about testing and analyzing so start with it.

I personally never use those banners in my reviews, they are fine for a sales page, but my job is to presell not closing the sale.

i agree, i prefer the stealth selling method. People generally hate being sold to on review sites or blogs, so gently steer them towards buying rather than in ya face selling. Big " Buy Now " buttons is off putting

I agree. "Check price on Amazon" is a better way to put it. Mentioning Amazon can work since it is a trusted brand and trusted brands are one of the key factors in building a successful merchant site.

Im not sure how much the actual CTA plays into the CTR as long as its readible and easily clickable, alot i think has to do with the trustworthyness of the overall site, i agree with adding anything to do with amazon close to the CTA to boost consumer confidence

Thanks for the replies. I will run with the Amazon themed ones for now.

Why not test different versions and see what converts best for you?
