I'm sure you all know that every single one of those add-ons is phoning home all the URLs you work on. And if you're logged into Gmail while using Chrome, your google ID is being tagged along with it.

E.G. By using Moz and other toolbars you're giving Moz all your browsed URLs and a shit ton of other free analytics.

So think about this before posting the next "OMG my PBN got delisted" thread.

ADDED: Those SERP plugins are not only saving all your visited URLS but also your searches and your keywords. So if you find a nice keyword....the keyword experts get it before you even start acting upon it.

That is eyeopening...

How do you recommend we do keyword research?

You can do kw research normally in Moz, Semrush, Adwords, wherever.

There's a big difference between using one service and installing their browser add-on.

Simply going to these sites is harmless.

But if you install their addon and you use a intrusive browser like Chrome, you're basically a voluntary lab mouse with a tag attached to you telling them everything you're doing.

To get those recommendations in the SERPs, the add-on had to send everything you typed to their server. To get PA, DA, etc on a toolbar, that toolbar is phoning home everything you do, they need the URLs in order to check the DA, PA....even the URLs in private services like emails will get sent.

Then you see posts here "OMG my entire PBN disappeared and I didn't do anything". Well, shit.

I just created new gmail id and new chrome profile for all this plugins
