Best car under 50k?

Best car for 50K is just about any car out there. You get a FAR better value for a 2-3 year old car with only 20K-40K miles if you check it out properly. IMO buying a brand new car is retarded.

And BTW at your original question I'm partial to Audis, always have been, absolutely love my A6 I have now and they make a model for everyone ;)

Oh hell yeah, there's no way I will be buying anything close to a brand new car, there is absolutely no point.

And how much did you pay for your A6?

Not a chance, can't stand Fords, and if anything I'd wait til spring and buy the Camaro ZL1 and bish slap every ford ever made.
 
Of those choices, I'd go with the roadster or the vette, depending on the test drive. Camaro just doesn't give much status since there's not much cosmetic difference between the $20k and the $40k versions.

I would look into an Audi A5 if I were you. They don't have the 0-60 performance of the cars you mentioned, but they're classy as fck and look amazing in person. An '09 would do nicely. Or an S4, those are pretty cool too.

Just buy a hyundai accent. Doesnt cost much in gaz, it doesnt breack too much and the most important, doesnt cost so much :)
 
I spent a few years working at a dealership, And out of the hundreds of different vehicles I've driven, and based on your criteria, I'd suggest going with an Audi. 'Vettes do have the -cool- look factor, but I couldn't imagine using one for a daily driver (Anybody who has driven one in traffic for more than 10 miles will likely agree with me). Mustang's don't really have the "WOW!" to them anymore now that there are a ton of sub-20k models available to anyone who can finance a candy bar. Same with the new Camaro.

Now, If it were my money, I'd buy a Subaru WRX STI (2008ish). Up here in minnesota the AWD platform would be a blast both in winter and summer months. Plus with 15k cash I'd damn near have the thing paid for immediately which would be a major plus! But hey, to each their own.

Ultimately, Buy the vehicle that gives you that good, happy feeling when you're behind the wheel. Good luck

I've heard Audi's drive amazingly, and I've also heard good stuff about WRX's (especially for the price). Which Audi model do you like for around $15k?

Audi's handle the road extremely well; I've always been impressed with how quiet it is inside the vehicle while you're driving, even if it's on less than ideal roads.

As far as in regards to the OP's criteria, with a 15k down payment and a max of 50k, I'd probably look to the 2009 Audi A6. Not only will you have an extremely sharp car, but as a used 2009 the biggest depreciation hit has already occurred, therefore should you decide to trade in or sell privately a few years down the road you should still get a decent amount of money back out of it.

As far as buying an Audi for 15k out-the-door, I can't make a suggestion, i'm not really familiar with Audi's in that price range sorry.

I had a 370z for a while before moving on and I absolutely loved that car. Base price is around 30 grand and it's a real bargain. Straight line is quick but the real thrills come with the point and go steering.
 
You need something that corners good.

I've heard that American cars dont do that too well :D

Oh man, Nissan lover right here. I had a 350z Base with the 6spd for awhile and LOVED it. I ended up selling it after a loss of control at around 70mph on a patch of ice. Rear wheel drive just isn't winter friendly up here! Ughh If I ever move somewhere else the 370z will definately be a consideration of mine...
