What wallet/platform/exchange/client can you recommend to a beginner how services that will help to minimize footprint?

The pseudo-anonymity of BTC isn't related to the wallet or platform you use.

Just type "how to privately use cryptocurrency for payments", or "what are privacy coins" into Google. Or just use Monero and a tumbler.

Thanks! I've never even heard of monero only really research bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum. But I will look into this. I hope it's not too volatile.
Yeah they're all very volatile, but the way to manage that is to store your value in stablecoins when you're not directly trading or spending it.

USDC and DAI are two good stablecoins.. USDT (Tether) is larger, but it's also a bit more controversial with regards to its solvency so use that at your own risk.

The real risk with record creation and detection of your transactions is when you have to interact with the banking system.. if you can, you want to avoid that because it's quite difficult to obfuscate the source of funds hitting a bank account if someone investigates and they came from crypto, and once an investigation begins it's surprisingly easy to back track the history of the funds using blockchain records if you haven't used things like Monero and tumbling.
