Depending on the market and traffic sources. Test a couple of networks with little budgets rather than just putting all the eggs in one basket, comparing KPI’s such as cost per acquisition, rather than just cost per click.

i still lean toward wordpress it offers excellent flexibility a huge plugin ecosystem and strong seo capabilities
I've tried other platforms and while some are easier to get started with wordpress still gives the best balance of control customization and scalability for long term projects and consistent organic growth

I still think WordPress is the best choice if SEO is your main focus, The flexibility, plugin ecosystem, and control over technical SEO are hard to beat Other platforms have improved but I still find WordPress easier to scale in the long run
Honestly, WordPress is still king in my book. The plugin ecosystem and SEO control are just too hard to beat, even in 2026. I've messed around with Ghost for a few smaller, speed-focused niche sites, and it's super clean, but I always end up coming back to WP for my serious projects.

WordPress is showing its slowdown, while native platforms like Substack and Ghost have attracted lot of writers recently

Reddit is still hard to beat the traffic is smaller than some platforms but the intent and engagement are on a different level.

A lot depends on the audience you're trying to reach some platforms bring more views but communities with strong discussions often create better long term value.

Best blogging platform is still wordpess. But there are some niche platform that you can explore.
Squarespace - demographics woman, aesthetically pleasing design, you can create visually stunning blog posts.
Wix - local site with blog. Google favors wix when it comes to local sites.
Shopify - if you want blog along with ecommerce store. Shopify is a far superior ecomm platform than WordPress.

Pinterest and niche forums are solid picks. They deliver steady traffic without heavy Google reliance.

WordPress is the best choice. It offers great SEO tools, flexibility, and many plugins. Other platforms are improving, but WordPress remains my first recommendation for most bloggers.
I have started working with freelancers directly after the first project instead of staying on one platform, It saves money, communication is easier, and you can build long term working relationships if you find someone reliable.
