Hi, any experience with the best and safest bitcoin wallet as I'm looking to get into it?
Currently I'm considering bitpay, coinbase and localbitcoins.
Good rates and safety are important. Would be nice to get a credit card so I can use the bitcoins from ATM's or something too.

BHW is filled with Crypto noobs. So you are asking in wrong place.

Personal wallets : Exodus, Jaxx wallet or Electrum (Bit advanced)

Don't take other kids advice here and store them in exchanges like they are suggesting (unless you are a active trader).
That's completely against the purpose of why Bitcoin was created.

Thanks, I'm a crypto noob too, hehe. I'm looking to accept some payments in bitcoin and then spend them directly to pay for services. But other than that, if there's a way to withdraw it as cash (with ATM) that would be great too.
Or withdraw to payoneer or similar.

Sound advice @bartosimpsonio thoughts?

Yeah never ever keep crypto in an exchange, you never have the private keys.

Dedicated Laptop for keeping wallets, make sure you can physically toggle the wifi like on lenovo laptops, only go online when doing a transaction. Hosting your own wallet is the best thing if you are careful. Electrum is my choice, but it requires a little bit of math on the fly to do transactions.

Cold storage is also an option via a printed paper wallet. Also be sure to take the right procedure to do this such as grabbing the private keys so the never go public, and only using it once to withdraw...

Hardware wallets are popular as well but I am skeptical. Most user friendly though, take it with a grain of salt.

If you are using a broker then secure your 2FA by using a dedicated phone for that as well, and making to sure to place a lock on your carrier so you can't get SIM swapped. Set No notifications without unlock on the phone....

it starts to get complicated when you carry a bunch of different altcoins. But BTC is pretty easy.

If you want to have a flow to convert BTC into spendable debit card, In the US Cashapp is actually great for this. You can send BTC to cashapp, sell it and have it immediately on the card, low fees too.

Wow, complicated. I signed up for bitpay with a pin. Hopefully that's good enough. They even have a Visa, but just for americans and I'm located in Europe.
So I've thought I could use bitpay to send and receive bitcoin and then send them to coinbase and exchange and withdraw to payoneer there, would that work?

Yeah that Bitpay debit card is trash, I have it the fees are ridiculous, at least the last time I tried to use it. I imagine the wallet isn't very good either. You are most likely fine with coinbase, but if you start to have volume then you really want to safeguard your assets because that's the nature of crypto your sec is only as good as you are. You can rely on 3rd parties but even they do not hold any accountability.

There are exchanges out there that easily convert your BTC into paypal, payoneer and Wire but they are kinda sketchy and I wouldn't mention them to a newbie like you.

BTC is pretty easy to store and use. You have a lot of options, its the altcoins where some have few applications to host a wallet off from an exchange. You are most likely fine but a lot of people like to ensure 100% safety.

Don't keep it on Blockchain wallet, don't keep it on Coinbase, don't keep it on bitpay, don't keep it anywhere you can access with a browser.
Everyone who says to use one of those is a fool and doesn't know they technology they are using (nor the philosophy behind it...)

My recommendation is Wasabi wallet, or Electrum wallet.

Don't be scared to use Electrum, it's simpler than you think, just need to look into it and get used to the interface.

download your own wallet, and put the private key in usb, that's the safest wallet.

Thanks everyone. I decided to go for exodus for main storage, bitpay for secondary storage and localbitcoins for exchange.

I use Electrum with a home-made cold storage, basically a Raspberry pi with no Internet connection

Do not trust localbitcoins for holding your crypto, I have heard many bad stories about them.
