Title. Been studying the basics in my free time between working and I'd like to start some project to put the stuff I've learned into practice, I know that a no-brainer project is a blog but writing content regularly to rank could end up in some burnout, as writing isn't something that I really enjoy.

What other types of projects could a beginner do to practice SEO?

Do you like fishing? When I first started tinkering, it was a lot like sitting in a boat fishing. I started with a handful of images related to a niche and a spreadsheet. I posted them to a few social media sites just to see what would happen, and I wrote it all down. Waited until a different day at a different hour, posted more, took notes. Changed some colors on poor performers and tried again, took notes. After a while, I kinda knew what photos worked on different sites. I know it's not SEO per se, but that iterative process really allows the abstract "what is good and what isn't" that no one can really answer to work itself out. With SEO, it's all about the data as well. You can read up on it until you're blue in the face, but until you can see with your own eyes how your own actions change the results over time, you'll never be able to apply it. With me, I had to change my perception. I wasn't building sites or social accounts, I was building experiments and in that frame of mind it became much much clearer.

I think the best training is learning HTML and master all the script tag writing.

This will help with SEO 100%

Then I say move slowly onto CSS understanding all the tags.

Then I would go and study moz and understand what all stitics mean for the domain name.

Then I would take a trail on ahreff and start understanding keyword research and backlinks.

Then I'll understand how to take money from online people / services and what services to use for your business

Then I'll study afflicate deals what best to join.

Then I'll learn best fast host.

Then learn WordPress from the host as it built in.

Then study cpannel.

Good luck

The problem with SEO it a very in-depth subject, it becomes so easy but first, you must do everything manually then SEO becomes very easy just looking at a website you can tell what needed to rule the competition.

Sorry but if you don't won't to no SEO then just use plugins like yoast and just get on making money without headache

Only learn SEO if it your career.

No matter what you do today's world your need money to get anywhere how it is .

try to target some low-mid difficulty keywords and test multiple things,
read, learn then test

I do freelance web design/development, so I know a bit of this already, SEO, hosting and marketing are where I'm lacking.

Though the idea of a small affiliate marketing website/landing page got my gears turning, thanks for the suggestion!

but wait, I thought IM was easy and involves no effort. I thought you could bring up a simple website and hit it with auto generated backlinks and start making money from the third day!

Sir: you are full of BS!!!

(I hope you got my sarcasm here)

start with a small wordpress page about some hobby you have, will be easy for you to get content and won't make you tired.

search engine optimization... what to optimize? a web page that has web content.

What are the most popular types of web content?

- news
- reviews
- product descriptions
- how-to information
- faqs
- topical discussions (comments)

All of them are text content. You have to write in order to practice SEO. No other way.
