Hello Everyone. Here's a question for the community. What's the best backlink analyzer tool/software available? I'v used Ahrefs and spy glass, but I'm open to suggestions. I know each has its limitations, but I need something that will provide both, a micro and macro analysis of a website\s link profile. Your feedback would be great

Linkscape (SEOMoz) has the largest index, but it's only updated once a month, personally i use Majestic SEO as it constantly indexes the internet and you will see your links appear much quicker. Personally i feel Majestic will soon become much bigger than SEOmoz's Link Index

More services include Ahrefs (which looks good, expensive though) and search metrics (cheapish).

Thanks guys for the input. I think Ahrefs is fast and easy, but does not index everything.Vezznay: Majestic SEO is more expensive than Ahrefs if you compare it dollar for dollar. Ahrefs gives you 25 mil crawled backlinks a month for $80 bucks. Majestic gives you the same number of backlinks for 129 euros ($160). Twice the price! Will try out majestic though.

If you want to go the free route, check out Backlink Watch or look for a free version of Traffic Travis.

Go with Majestic SEO as they keep updating their database on a regular interval.

    Hi Zee007,

I highly recommend Traffic Travis. This soft shows where your site is ranked in the SEs for important keywords, so you can see at a glance rather than trawling through pages of SE listings.

It will even keep track of your previous positions so you can see whether your site is moving up or down over time :)

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks

Traffic Travis sucks to me...not comparable to all above mentioned services/tools.

Thanks for all the info guys! So far I've been using Ahrefs, but it does not seem to update its database very often. I also have "some" experience with SpyGlass, but its not that detailed as Ahrefs. I have no experience with Majestic (but it seems rather expensive). Seems like there is no single backlink software that addresses all our needs. I welcome any more thoughts/suggestions. This community rocks!

I tried out ahref's and it seems ok so far. But majestic SEO beats them all in terms of data.

OSE sucks. Period. Majestic is easily the best, but ahrefs is growing fast as well, and gives more data, more frequent updates, and a better interface.

Traffic travis is by far the worst of all backlink tool I used. They don't index everything. Here is everything I tested so far (using the same website of course)

    1. Ahrefs (easily the fastest, best and most detailed)

    2. Traffic Travis (worst and takes too long)

    3. SpyGlass (Pretty slow and doesn't index everything. Just slightly better than Traffic Travis)

    4. SEOmox (pretty nice, but does not index as much as ahrefs).

    5. Have not tried Majestic SEO yet, but will soon.

Well there you have it. Ahrefs wins the race for fast, easy to use and the most detailed of all the backlink tools I have used.

I rarely use spyglass anymore, it only scrapes existing search engines, it does not have its own index.

I'm trying out backlinks diver, I thnk it's from glocksoft, the same people who did fastblogfinder, which was a solid tool.
