AMR is just for submitting articles, the problem people have with it is the huge article directories don't seem to work anymore for a lot of people. The advantage to the various submission programs is the ability to post spintax articles to a variety of directories at once. Article Kevo is like $87 now with a coupon but has multiple platforms you can submit to, while a program like Article Submit Plus is less than $35 last time I looked at their sales site a few months ago. AMR, AK, and ASP all allow you to enter your own article directory accounts. But, as I mentioned the main advantage is submitting spun content. You will probably need to scrape your own directories for each one to get better results from the lesser know article directories.
If you are going to just choose the top article directories and want only to submit truly original articles and not spun articles, then just use a password manager like roboform to keep your login details organized. The free version will even work if you only want to have accounts at the handful of top article directories.
