Best Article Sites For Getting Ranked Quickly

I've got a method that relies on a couple of things to go my way, but one is articles.

What (in your opinion, based on results etc) at the best places to submit to in order to get a good ranking on Google, within a day?

I submitted one article today to HubPages, has me ranked page 1 within 2 hours, however I also need know some other places I can submit articles?

ArticlesBase has worked very well in the past, however that was when they auto-accepted my articles; they now check them and tend to deny this niche.

So yeah, just asking for an article directory to submit to - Ezine will probably not work.

Is it worth submitting all to HubPages?

Was actually thinking of using them before, however are they back on level terms with Google?

I heard about Google slapping them and they get crap rankings now?

they just sent us an email saying that our 2 yr old lenses are too spammy and they are now locked from appearing.

yea i got 2 emails like that today. they are very old WoW lens and hell i gave up on them years ago anyway now they tell me they are banning those. idiots they are. told them that once when they donated a check i had coming. pissed me off.

imho, it's best to submit one article to.. like, say, ezine.. and then build backlinks to that article via social bookmarking, hubpages, squidoo, etc.. using relevant anchors.
also make use of rss feeds - use a html to rss converter and submit the feed to high pr rss directories.
