Well it does take a little time. In 1 day after your article is accepted it should be sent out to 12 sites or so, and the page that the article links to should be indexed by google. Sometimes the indexing can take longer, really all depends.
It just builds with time, if you got a crazy explosion of traffic, google would probably list and delist your site anyway.
Also consider that the sites that accept your articles right away are doing feeds, even MFA looking ones. The heavier weighted directories will take time to manually approve your articles.
Remember it should only take about 50 highly targeted visitors a day for you to make at least 5$. This is assuming that not only do you have adsense on the page, but a useful clickbank product that you have a review page for in addition to your normal site content.
I just got into clickbank in the past week, but have found it much more profitable than my old way of just doing adsense.
The second piece to the puzzle is article post robot. You can email the guy who runs it and he will let you try it seven days for free. So take a unique version of your eight UAW articles and submit them using articles post robot as it covers all the largest article directories.
I would give article post robot and UAW about equal weight. UAW submits to more but the sites have lower weight (and lets face it some of these sites may not be around more than a year, for they are more for quick traffic jumping )while article post robot submits to fewer but the sites have higher weight. (and these sites will probably be around for a few years at least)
Even better, do a split test. Have two different sites. Submit a few articles using APR to one site and submit a few articles using UAW and the other.
The third piece to the puzzle involves completely spinning your articles. UAW in my experience has a 50%+ catch rate by google and isn't counted as duplicate content. (which is still a great rate, much better than submitting to 1000 directories and having almost all of them counted as dupes) The key to some serious backlinks is to have completely unique articles.
UAW is good at getting past dupe content, but utterly fails copyscape. I use power article rewriter (there may be better tools out there, but this is so easy to use). There is a free 15 day trial. Since this spinner is manual, it actually works.
The key to spinning is to not make your articles too informative. It is much more difficult for dupe content filters to count generic words. For example lets say I completely rewrite an article three times and mesh it together but include the phrase "generic early onset Alzheimer's disease" in that order in each article. This phrase shows up nowhere in the search engines, so when a place like copyscape sees this phrase suddenly appear 100's of times it gets suspicious.
Not to mention that the goal is to whet the appetite of the reader, not necessarily to give them the goods. Give them a hit of crack and they will come to your site for more. I have been starting to think that not as many article writers are as incompetent as I believe, they just know to include a few keywords and the rest is fluff.
Spinning takes a long time. Perhaps 20 minutes to write an initial article, 20 minutes to rewrite the article two times, then another 20-30 minutes to create a unique spin-able article.
Then of course there is the submission. For example with Article post robot, I wouldn't really recommend submitting the exact same article to all their sites. Very few will stick. But once you have created your spinnable version, you can spin, copy, paste, submit to one directory, spin, copy, paste, submit to another. I suppose this could be done for hundreds of them with APR, or you can just select the 25 or so with highest PR or just the top 10.
I will give you examples of a rewrite tomorrow or the day after with the correct syntax. In a couple months I will write up an ebook and give it out to a few members and then probably sell the other copies.
I want to be able to provide clear examples which show the results day by day and how exactly article marketing works. Right now this is impossible, as a.) I am not going to be sharing personal adsense containing websites so that I get smart priced. I am also not going to remove adsense off of one of my profitable sites to prove a point. (Not to mention I never did keep track day by day so it is hard to quantify)
b.) It also takes a lot of time to show how traffic progresses, which is why it is important to show it over a couple months.
