Hi,
I've been looking for some 'low hanging fruit' to practice my SEO skills. I found a good looking KW - 4000 searches / month, 0.50c CPC and the competition looks very low. Google returns 300,000 results and the top page includes facebook pages and obscure forum posts.
Then I noticed there are a whole bunch (about 10) of similar KW's with similar metrics and equally as lame google competition.
QUESTION 1
So my question is, should I buy a load of domains and do a separate site for each keyword, or should I create one site to try and cover them all?
One issue is that there are other KW's in this category which I would have no chance of ranking for. So if I was to try and create an authority site, I would have a lot of competition despite these KW's not being picked up.
A real life comparison would be something like this. I have found 10 obscure fish that people search for but nobody has ranked for. So I could rank for these KW's, but there wouldn't be much point in me going a general fish site because I'd have to compete with cod, goldfish, salmon etc. Or WOULD it be better to do this and concentrate on the obscure fish?
QUESTION 2
Just one other thing - in these KW's are also a few which are being searched for a couple of hundred times a month but have a CPC of around $10. I know it's probably subjective, but just wondering if people would go for that or you're better off with high traffic, lower CPC?
