I'd have to go with kaspersky as well. Get the whole package. Whatever you do, stay away from Norton. I have never seen a more bloated, huge footprint, kill your pc performance piece of software.
Oh, and paid version of Malwarebytes as well.
I agree totally about norton. I bought a cheap laptop (new) had windows 8 and a 60 day trial of norton. I was playing a game on facebook and norton popped up saying I am running low on memory... 98% memory usage. It did this several times and I was like (WHAT THE FUCK?)
The laptop was cheap but the processor was 2x the one in my old desktop and RAM was 3x the bytes. My desktop would freeze occasionally but it is old, cheap, and outdated. (Kinda like me!) This laptop should handle it with no problem at all.
I checked task manager and found out that norton was eating from 28% to 33% of my memory and cpu usage was jacked as well. The laptop didn't freeze but it lagged a bit. That fucking popup from norton saying I was running low on memory when it was hogging 1/3 was just ridiculous.
