alright you BHW guru's out there

what wouldyou say is the best amount of backlinks to get each day?

im starting a new website and i want to stay under the radar of course! and not get banned by google..

ive heard anywhere from 3 a week to 10 a day, but what is your opinion?

be heard!

thanks in advance

i've heard around 10 a day is fine with sites that are similar to yours. but i'm sure 10-15 per day should be fine. Lets wait for a guru or a someone with a higher post count to comment on this. i wouldnt mind an exact number!

I'd also say that 10 a day is a good benchmark, though I think quality is what you should really focus on.

One strong backlink can outweigh tons of lesser ones. I'd suggest focusing on getting the best related links possible.

Matt

How do you find backlinks from legit same topic sites?
Do you email site owners or is there a place for this?

Actually 10-20 backlinks a day is not uncommon. You can submit the requests but it doesn't necessarily mean all of them will be approved. Of course this also depends on the source of the backlinks as well.

Finding backlinks from relevant blogs is easy to do. Also, remember that submitting articles to ezinearticles will give you relevant backlinks, since you control what the article says.

wow freudianip27, those were the exact 2 things i was going to do

bizcredit, find high PR blogs are related to your niche, that have ******** links, post quality comments, then use your link as a sig
and for the articles, just write 5 articles, and put them into an article submitter and u'll have maybe 40 new backlinks... but idk, do you suggest only sending the article to one good directory? or blasting it?

Great minds think alike mak111 :)

I'm not a big fan of blasting to article directories. I tried it with some sites and ended up getting booted out of the index. I've had a lot more success with focusing on those top directories, though I know some people that do the mass submissions.

Matt

yea, im thinking of spinning the articles then submitting each one to a different directory, so that i dont get punished for duplicate content :)

for a new site 10-15. For established site 20-30. for very popular sites (+10k per day) +50

i m agreed with foluska

i don't think it's an issue because the sites aren't likely to get re-crawled on the same day anyway. could be weeks or months before the site is crawled and google even knows there's a backlink...

correct me if i'm wrong

As many links as possible.

Do not worry about getting too many links, worry about not getting enough.

That is the mentality you need to succeed.

I wouldn't push it past 10 personally, not worth raising any flags.

A hint I was recently given: If your site is new and you are going for 15+ back links, make sure you distribute them over a number of pages on your site.

The only risk you run if you have a new site and get lots of backlinks, let's say 2000 in the first couple of weeks, unless you're some kind of major authority site (like the official web site for the next resident evil movie) then you can expect to get "sandboxed" which is usually a 90 day penalty to fight "spam" We don't really know how they choose to sandbox sites and naturally Google doesn't really talk about it.

This is why major link spamming black hatters choose to target Yahoo instead of Google. Yahoo is a lot looser about this kind of thing. Sure, yahoo gets less traffic, but would you rather be the big fish in a small pond or a little fish in a big pond? If you're #1 on yahoo you'll get more traffic than by being 30th on Google.

A reasonable rate to build manually would be to vary between 10-30 a day. Some days get more and some days get fewer. If you have an old site, there's really no risk of sandboxing so you can go crazier and get lots more links faster.

This has been my experience, don't treat this like the final authoritative answer, besides the fact that things are always evolving anyway. I'd love to see what other experienced members have to say about this.

SE constantly change. Hard to say. Recently I built 3k backlink in just couple of days and never get penalized.

Maybe the niche has a lot to do with. After all 3k backlinks on some niches would scream low quality, and it would be easier, imo, to screen out possible bad niches rather than have an opt in system.

I am convince Google works by a lot of cludges, patches and manual interevention and that the underlying algos are pretty basic.

OK yea i agree no more than probably 15 or probably at the most 20 backlinks a day, if it is a brand new site. BTW where can i get one of these backlink programs? Anyone have the link in this site or know of a link they can give me so i can get a backlink program? Thank You.
