I have been playing around with a few services for creating website designs but haven't found anything that is any better than hand prompting an AI like GPT or Grok. All of the agentic solutions seem to go off on a tangent and require a bunch of different technologies to be installed for just a simple website.

Are there any good such services that you guys have used? I am more interested in what creates unique looking designs as everything seems to spit out designs that scream AI created.

Lovable.dev spits out nice website designs.
1) you ask chatgpt to give you sections, copy and design of your website
2) you pass these 3 to lovable.dev it will create whole website
3) you can import the site onto WordPress using clonewebx clone extension.

Same here. Most “agentic” builders overcomplicate things and still spit out generic layouts.

I’ve had better results hand-prompting and iterating—Cursor + Sonnet 4.5 in particular. Sonnet tends to produce the cleanest and least “AI-looking” designs, but you still need a few iterations like "make it cooler" , "make it 2026 not 1990" and so on :D

AI works best as a co-designer, not a one-click solution.

I recently had a bit of luck getting gpt to one shot a site but that was because it had the original design to work off, and the original design was from the early 2000s, I wanted it to recreate the functionality and it did it great. It is the style of teh design that I struggle with.

I haven't really played around with claude or lovable that much tbh. I'll have to give them a go.

Well yea sometimes it happens to spit out great designs out of the box, but usually I just have to reiterate until I get it right.
Yea try Claude in some editor, that's why I've suggested cursor but it can be any editor I guess.

I for one use Astro with React and Tailwind and framer-motion for quick websites, and next.js for complicated projects and sonnet 4.5 spits out the best designs.

they all suck man, nothing useable by itself, ur gonna have to fix alot of the code urself
I am absolutely fine with that. I suck at designing so am looking for something to do a decent job for me. I don't mind coding issues, it's the visual side I suck at and the AIs I've played with in the past all seem to spit out variants of the same designs but I'll give lovable and claude a proper try and see if they can get me where I need to be.

I am exactly in your position, I really suck at design :) but with AI now ... I'm just amazing :D

None, really, you need to instruct it which css libraries and framworks to use, you can even say use gsocks for animation, thats pretty badass and how to sytle forms, you will benefit if you know the dev lingo. Or just tell them you want something on the level of typmanus designs, it does not get better than that, albeit, not very practical or fit for mobile first. Every AI knows typmanus is the king of the road.
