Go with Ahref.
If you are looking for only a backlink tool, I will strongly advise using ahref provided that you have the budget. If you want to use a full SEO tool, I will suggest you semrush becuz it is cost-effective.

Ahrefs is still one of the better options if backlink data is your main priority but it can be expensive for smaller projects SEMrush is a good alternative with more all in one features so i’d compare the backlink limits and pricing of the plans you’ll actually use before choosing

IMO, ahrefs is good and better sometimes Semrush has less data than Ahrefs.

Are you just wanting to check your own sites backlinks, or be able to export backlink profiles of 3rd parties? If it's the former, then an Ahrefs free account will do that for you, you just need to add your properties to the tool.
