A did a reading on training materials but many questions haven't been reflected in the material. So the best way is to spend time on doing campaigns, testing all features and interface.
A lot of question during test regarded interface like where to find this option or that option. From which level to create ad group etc.
So there was many questions that you will answer easier if you familiar with the interface.

Theory will never make you reach anywhere. yeah, it can give you the overview of the whole scenario, but my friend, practical training is the best practice one could do in order to excel adwords!
i agree trial and error is the best form of learning when it comes to adwords.. although it can hurt the wallet if you go on mad one lol
