What is everyones feelings on the best adsense ad placement for a long, say 2,500 word article? I have a pretty good set up for inner pages that are 1k words or less, but anyone have more experience with longer posts?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

You will really need to test things out, somewhere around the middle of the article may work for some.

For what it's worth, I've done well with the 336x280 ad blocks in the content. I put one after the 2nd paragraph or so, one in the middle and one at the end. Typically have about the same length pages as well. As mentioned above though - really going to have to tweak and see what works best for your site/niche.

I would split test different ad placements and ad types to determine that answer, although my ads always do better when they're in-content ads.

Split test it. But what works for me is the 336 rectangular box on the top left of the content - 728 x 90 in the middle of the article and finally another 336 rectangular at the bottom left.
This should work very well for text ads and make sure you embed the ads with the Theme color.

Large rectangle works best for me, but you need to test placements as it may also depend upon your niche.

Good question OP, was just coming on to ask the same..

also... large rectangle would people be inclined click text or images more? or does it depend.

If your target audience is coming from Facebook, then image ads are the way to go. Facebook users will only read something if it's in an image.

Watch this Hope it will help you:

Are you using any plugins for responsive ads? For example 728x90 might not look great on many screens.
