for a news site specifically you might wanna look at raptive (used to be adthrive/mediavine for publishers) since they actually optimize for news-heavy traffic patterns, most generic adsense alts treat news sites the same as blogs which kills your rpm pretty bad
 
for a news site specifically i'd actually push back on framing this as just finding "an adsense alternative" like theyre all interchangeable, ezoic and mediavine perform really differently depending on your traffic volume and niche so the swap isn't always 1:1. ezoic has no minimum traffic requirement now which is great for smaller news sites but the ad load can tank your core web vitals if youre not careful with the settings
