beneift from SB sites

I'm trying understand how SB works?

I'm trying to understand how SB or similar type sites can benefit me
I mean more of a "digg" or "stumbleupon" "reddit"

take "digg" for example, I see a link with a title "how to date interested women" (as an example) and you click on the link thinking it will take you to an article for more info, but instead it drops you on a landing page to sign up for said "date site"

I actually like the method, but can anyone provide any info on working this method?

Or a methodology?????

SB is mainly for faster indexing + some links.
Only some of SB sites are do-follow (digg is nofollow)
If you spam with landing pages etc - you'll probably get banned and your bookmark removed.
