Benefits to buying a press release?

Would purchasing a press release for an artist help the artists career or help the artist get verified on social media platforms?

Does it help the artist rank on search results?
I’m still very new to this and never really cared about it until now. I’ve been doing my research on it and I’m still very confused on how it works and what benefits it can offer.

I’ve been looking on BHW for press releases services and saw a few but not sure if I should invest my money in it. Would it be a good idea to pay someone to write an press release on a artist?

A press release that is distributed via something like Newswire will absolutely not help you get verified as an artist. They also tend to disappear sooner or later from the SERPs and don't have a particularly long shelf life. For the purpose of verification, your PR must be coming solely from editorial placements on high DA sites. Press releases will always have a disclaimer revealing the fact that it was a paid media placement and therefore, make it ineligible for submission.

Luckily as an artist, you have by far the least amount of needed PR requirements. So long as you focus on getting staff-published articles on non-blacklisted sites i.e. sites you find on Fiverr (The Source, HipHopSince1987, 24HipHop, etc.), you won't need much to meet most platform's notability standards (with exception to TikTok).
