benefit of +1 ?

Google's really good at fishing out bad +1s because they have all of the account history for Google users. They can see whether the gmail accounts are active and when they were established. It has a good effect on social search though. Results will show up higher for people whose friends left a plus one.
But how many +1 can make a differences in google results?

More +1s are better but like Bp said...G can verify if the +1s are legit. They also know that very few people bother clicking plus 1s so realistically if your +1s are any more than about 5% of your facebook likes then its obviously loaded.

Let me put it this way, I tested pushing for +1s on my blog and then I tested pushing for likes on my blog.
I stuck with likes
probably good to have both but Facebook Likes drive far more traffic to my blog than +1s ever have.

According to Google's Matt Cutts, having a lot of +1 has no direct effect on rankings:

So it only helps if a Google user's friend had +1'd your site.
