These YT/Tiktok fights are always shit but as always, I'm gonna watch and expect something better. I guess because Askren is fighting.

In my opinion, Jake Pauls been training for a while and is a decent boxer. Ben Askren on the other hand is a good wrestler. Clearly, if it was a MMA fight Askren would take it quickly. Jake might be a better striker but Askren is a tough-ass dude.

Jake Paul winning odds at -130. I'm hoping for Askren as how can you not feel for him after the Masvidal fight

Who you got

Really hoping Askren wins. Somebody needs to hand Jake Paul a loss. Getting way too cocky for being a not so great boxer

I'm going with Askren. It's hard to tell how good Jake Paul is. He has a solid skillset, but he has fought three guys who have never been in fights and would have lost to any half-decent boxer.

Ben has many ways to win, mainly dirty boxing, pulling on the back of Jake's head and neck, punches in the clinch, and tiring him out. Jake has fought a bunch of timid chumps, but never someone who isn't intimidated by him at all and will come straight at him. I can't see Jake being able to generate enough power to knock out Ben after Ben has fought some killers with significantly better striking and all wore 4-ounce gloves such as Robbie Lawler. People also give Ben way less credit than he deserves, the guy was undefeated for 10 years, and although that was due to his wrestling, he is still very good at avoiding punches and clinching, which is how I think this fight will play out.

My prediction is Jake gasses out early starts to panic, and Askren wears him down and may even knock him out in the 6th or 7th round.

Ben Askren is one of the best wrestlers to ever compete in MMA, but also one of the worst strikers. That said he can take a punch from the best there is, im sure he can take a punch from Jake. I still think Askren can take this but who knows.

I think Askren is downplaying everything. I think he never needed striking to be good at MMA, so he never showcased it or practiced it. I think when it comes down to it, Ben is going to maul Jake because he knows it's the only thing he can do. Ben is a warrior, despite getting KO'd in 5 seconds by Jorge.

Also, I want to take a moment to share some hot takes since I can't do it anywhere else.

Jon Jones vs Brock Lesnar is in the works.

- Jon needs a tune up fight, Lesnar loves to compete.
- Lesnar is far out of his prime, but I don't think that matters here. I'm sure they could sell this fight and Brock has rumored a return to the UFC, although it's largely gone dismissed.
- Jon needs a money fight, Lesnar is always going to be a money fight.
- Jon said his conversation with Dana went great, although no indication of a fight scheduled with Francis.
- Brock Lesnar was recently training wrestling at the University of Minnesota
- This fight could be branded the "Steroid" fight. I love the idea of this. The hype would be massive.
- Brock isn't under contract with the WWE, it's possible he's been in the testing pool for USADA for a while.
- On the small, small chance Brock wins, Brock vs Ngannou would be the biggest fight of all time, no question about it.
- On the likely chance Jon wins, his superfight with Francis would be even more huge.

Conor Mcgregor vs GSP is going to happen either end of this year or 2022.

-
Another money fight for Conor and GSP.
- GSP was rumored to fight Khabib, but Khabib retired. I think GSP vs Mcgregor is an interesting matchup. I can see them doing it at welterweight.
- Conor isn't probably going to compete for championships anymore, people just want to watch him compete in money fights. I can also see him running the trilogy back with Nate.

Ben is hilarious, and Logan Pauls little brother is a great reflection of todays generation. So I'm for sure hoping Ben will mash him up.

Bens striking is poor, since he is a wrestler. I don't know about Jake, but he's got size and most likely trained hard for at least 1-2 years before this. So I'm sure he can have some power in his punches - and it only takes one. No matter how much beating Bens face can take lol.

I would have hoped a boxer would have taken up on this fight instead of Ben. Or even better, if this was an MMA fight. It would be over with within 30 seconds.

Ignorance is bliss

I read this entire thread without knowing what in the everliving f this is all about LOL

I have no idea who these people are.

Askren all the way. Doesn't matter how bad Ben's boxing is he has a lot of top-level fighting experience and you just simply can't train for that. He has been hurt baaad by elite-level fighters and still managed to win the fight. And after all, boxing is a fight.

Jake might look good on the pads or fighting bums but he definitely can't KO Askren and I don't think he can win on points either in an 8 round fight with a guy that knows what it feels to be hurt, tired, and to dig deep and still push.

How do I think the fight will go? Jake looking good for the first 2 rounds then fading away and getting TKOed/giving up late in the 6-7-8 round.

I can't believe I paid for that. So cringe with all those commentators. Even Bieber couldn't save that.

Ben also doesn't care that he lost, it's pretty obvious haha. He was in it for the payday.

In Real News... Whittaker vs Gastelum was awesome!

Dunno why people still bet in these fights, they're obviously staged.

A previous UFC Champion that has fought against boxers far better than Jake cant last a round against Jake Paul, don't make me laugh.

Not to play devil's advocate, but in MMA whenever Ben would get into trouble he'd take it to the ground where he excels.

Boxing and mma are different. Ben has never fought a boxer before Jake

Edit: Wrong quote, was for napolean
I know, he's a wrestler mostly, but he has fought plenty of boxers before in the UFC. I didn't expect Ben to win since hes awful if hes not on the ground but he has endured far more against much better opponents than jake paul.

Are you joking?

You do know boxing is still one of the most used fighting styles in UFC right?
Both his offence and defence is wrestling.

It's a big difference between defending yourself against a boxer in MMA and a boxer in boxing - especially if you´re a wrestler.
