Being threatened by a potential content owner asking for compensation

I uploaded few tv shows last year. About six of them, and couple of them are monetized. Gradually my channel grew bigger. Suddenly a few days ago someone sent me a msg in my fb page that we have his video in our channel. That guy seems to be a part of that show but he didnt provided any proof of ownership though. He's asking for compensation and wants those video stats to determine the amount.

So anyone encountered this kind of situation and what do you recommend me to do?
He threatened me to send copyright claims, three of those means my channel is terminated right? Should i try to negotiate and compensate or just removing those videos will be good enough? Or i should completely ignore him? Is it possible to send copyright strikes after removal of videos?

I'm worried. I don't want to lose my channel for few videos.

No it is not possible, and useless i may add, to send dmcas for some removed videos. But he can sue if he tbinks u banked hard with those videos. I will do the fallowing:

1.) Agree with a certain compensation but ask proof of ownership.

2.) If he provides the ownership proof remove the videos the next second or pay the compensation. If doesnt provide the proof it is probably a scam.

3.) This kind of issues doesnt get sollved on facebook...so it is probably a scam.

I wouldn't worry about it, exept if he can prove that he was involved in making the show.

Just beware of the "proof" he will bring to you.

What sort of proof i can ask to him??? Well actually i dont hv any idea at all how a ownership proof may look like.
It has to be official right? Few images with the cast or crew doesnt cant be a proof right?

Even if he provides proof, do not agree to any form of compensation without a written legal agreement - this is an admission of guilt, which could lead to bigger problems.

It doesn't matter if he is the owner or not. The point is, anyone can flag those videos and get your account closed.
So you can say that you doubt he is an actual owner, because the owner contacted you couple months ago and you agreed on monthly payments. Basically tell him to GTFO, but nicely.

What country you're in? IMO, if he was a real copyright owner then he surely dealt this legally, he might sent you a notice but he haven't done anything like that. Probably a scam.

The production/distribution studios are the copyright holders of the video, so unless you receive a message from them (and they can get litigious right away if they wanted to), then disregard the message.

Hmmmm... seems like a scam to me.
