Being rich in the 3rd world

As for many of the reasons listed on this thread, I will be leaving the USA come Feb or March to go live in what I believe will be paradise. My two bedroom condo with all utilities including internet will run me $360 a month on a upscale secured complex. Less then what I pay for my studio apt now. I have found many places cheaper, but want to go first and decide where I want to settle into then.

I live in a 3rd world country and many people are rich here. It's not like 3rd world country = starvation. Well...in a way, I mean, most people here drive Porsche Cayennas, but can barely afford to pay for the rent.

You must be Romanian... ;) No disrespect... but it sounds like Romania. Used to live there for 2 years

Come to Goa,India mate. It fulfills all your criteria :). And you can find a lot of people from all over the world there. Extremely nice place to live.Good food, cheap booze and awesome people :D..

count me in next year. just saving some real money to get settled in Goa.

I'm Portuguese, and Goa as a lot of portuguese roots still, plus i'm a Goa-Trance freak and i can't wait for those beach parties :heh: before moving to Goa permanently(i hope at least it's permanent) i'll spend some months in Koh Phangan(Thailand) to enjoy those great FullMoon parties.

cya there peeps ;)

Let me know when you're going - the beach parties ROCK. Would love to meet someone up there again if I decide to visit sometime this summer.

It is safer to live in some "poor" country than in countries like US and UK. Big Brother is slowly killing you and you even dont know that. Americans are sickest nation in the world.
People in most poor countries are generally more happier than west, even if they are hungry.

Some Americans know about big brother and what he is doing, so don't lump us all together

I've been to Brazil and absolutely loved it, but I was also staying with very wealthy Brazilian friends. Most of the areas I visited where "upper class." This was in 2000 and was treated incredibly kind by all I met. At any rate, I thought it was great, and I would move to Santos or Sao Paulo in a second if I had the opportunity.

First, LOL@ the person who said you can buy 3 meals in India for $1, if you are talking about buying road site shit (Chole kulche), then my friend for $1 you can even have 9 meals. However if you want to eat in some good food in malls (in Delhi) it will cost $10-15 for single meal of two people and that too i am talking about open food courts here, in branded clubs and discos you will be charged $2 for single chapati means around $50 for single meal, one time food.

It's simple, what you pay is what you get. After globalization, the metro politian cities of India have seen the tremendous increase in salaries of people and thus food and luxury has been increased in price to global standards. You can eat in 'Dhabas' here, full meal for probably $2 but then don't come back to the forum, complaining about Indian food quality.

If you have money in your pocket and ready to spend any amount, then you'll see royal part of India. I mean my country is for every kind of person, around the world and different budgets.

Common wealth games are on the way, this is the right time to come here and experience the food, religion, culture and people. And as the world knows the big amount of gold and money has been stolen from India and transported to other countries.

I love my country and just pretty depressed of the politicians here, blood a** holes fighting in front of cameras in Parliament and ready to suck blood of common people. I miss you Bhagat Singh.

around $50 for single meal
Where you live mate doent seems like you are from india!!
I am from India but never heard of this kinda expense..
Belive me if you are earning around $500-600 you can live like a king..

"The rich becomes richer"
The poor becomes poorer"
Dat seems quite right for India.

Morocco !!!

For those of you who are living in a cave, it's in the north of Africa and it's considered the nearest country to Europe, (14km between em)

Yeah ! it's a 3rd party country but ... WOW ! it's just amazing ! the most beatifule place on earth, especially if you have enough money to afford it's beauty .

I'm Moroccan, and I'm not planing to leave my country any time soon !

If you need more infos about Morocco from an insider I'm here ! ! ask me what ever you want :)

Hey host32...

How much is enough to "afford its beauty"? What is the average salary? What are the females like? How is the internet access?

For 2K rupees about $38 dollars you get the full rave party pass..believe me I was in holland and GOA eats the heart out when it comes to dope...girls are not that good but who cares when you are high everything looks and feels the better :)

I went to a poor part of Venezuela and worked there for a month on a refinery. I was getting paid very well. There were a few americans, mostly from Texas, and California, a few Canadians, and some Germans. And Lots of Locals. Any one from a foreign country was getting paid well. Any Local were getting somewhere around $100-$300/month. There were a few locals that had College degrees and they were getting close to what I was getting paid, So they were able to live really well, or save and come to USA. I was able to live very comfortably. One day I happened to be walking out of the office/trailer, at quitting time, and all the locals were crowded out side. Some asked questions in English, and translated for everyone, a few things I could answer in spanish. I was a bit nervous at first, didn't know if they were jealous of me or something like that. It was more envy I guess. They asked me where I was from, then if I was Close to Hollywood (30min drive). They asked what my clothing cost. If I liked it there (couse I was able to like like a king). My hotel there was a nice place. had a resturaunt, I was able to get an apitizer, meal, desert and mixed drinks for $5-10 (including a large tip).

Malaysia is the ugliest country, both the country and its people. Everywhere you go nobody has any fashion sense and most of them have really ugly faces. (except for teenagers that stroll the malls, those can be pretty cute).

Now about Kuala Lumpur, it's the worst city to live in, besides the massive amount of unnecessary shopping malls, there's nothing to be proud of really. Congestion, unplanned roadway, public transportation that sucks.

Everything import in Malaysia will cost you 30% more and the only thing that is cheap here is food, which will give you diarrhea anyways if you don't know where to look.

Any food you buy in KL has the tendency to be exposed to the heavy smoke due to congestion. People are not nice here, crime rate is sky high. If you ever come to this god-forsaken country, please make sure you know where you at, don't go around with your DSLR like nobody knows how expensive that shyt is (1 month salary around here).

In some sketchy malls, you can get beat up for "just looking" so obviously you can't see ALL of the city.

Oh yeah, and if you happen to be a muslim, think twice before you consume alcoholic beverage at a bar, the penalty for that is public canning and penalty for drug possession is DEATH by hanging.

Still wanna come?

i dont like people knowing my business either; you cant state which COUNTRY this is??? its a whole country!! not the name of your "hotel"!

and you can attack the "western way", but i think the western people in the forum KNOW that our country has bad issues and a bad reputation, but dont let one old BAD president make everyone seem bad! just dont forget that 50% of us dont agree with what goes own. this can be said in a lot of countries!

what is the best country to live?
what makes a perfect country?
1) safe and low crime
2) low cost of living
3) live well (internet, housing, etc)
4) great people
5) wild girls
6) decent weather (i like a little winter! lol)
7) more??

which country fits ALL of this?

Funny I should see this thread, becuase I just got back from a trip to a 'third world' country - I wont say which one, as I dont like people knowing my buisiness. I've visited many 'third world' countries - and anyone who is generalising them all to be shit and the west to be the only good place - is SERIOUSLY deluded. I'll be heading back in a month.

Let me tell you about one of my days:

* Wake up at 7am in my private villa on the grounds of a 5* hotel and resort. Rent costs me one fifth of the price of smaller apartment in London.
* Go for a work out in the gym which is provided for free to residents, after which I go to the private beach, along the private jetty and snorkle on a reef for an hour or so, some days i'll scuba - 15$ for the tank.
* I then do my work in the couple of hours before lunch in one of the excellent European restaurants, or if I feel like bad food, perhaps TGI's or Hard Rock. It costs maybe 5$ for an excellent meal with drinks.
* Come home and check that the maid and gardener have done an acceptable job - put away my laundered clothes.
* In the afternoon i'll probably mess around on quads in the dessert, or hang out on a boat party, at a cost of $10 for the afternoon.
* In the evening I goto one of the 3000 capacity clubs, and thanks to good friendships with the local DJ's in return for some facebook carnage - the $300 vip seats are free every night.

Now lets look at some of the other great reasons:

  • No tax on foreign earnings - ie you just keep your payments, you dont pay for stupid shitty govenments to bail out banks.
  • 100% safe, zero crime. Better security than London/NewYork
  • Perfect weather and travel links to anywhere else in the world.
  • Non existent data/computer laws
BTW the above is all open to anyone making $100 or more per day. I'm sure it could be done for far less, but I like to live at a high standard.

If you are open to new experiences, I highly recommend 2 years moving from place to place, plan well, you will have a rich life full of amazing people, places, foods, and lead a pampered healthy life. Or you can live the western way, under the man, his rules, and the dull faced robots who run from office to office.
