this has always been an interest to me.
so i have questions!! lots!
* i live in US. what country could i move to where
my smaller income would do well?? specially near water/beach!
* how do you travel with money? visa card?
* i have heard a lot about people coming after people with money, special if you have a target like USA on your back.
id love to find a place to go and live maybe part time at first.

i think we can talk to were blue in the face, but the truth is there is no country like the usa! yea we got high taxes but fuck it work harder! this is IM! it aint that hard! at least here you can at least live somewhere safe and aint gotta worry about getting your ass ripped out of your ferrari!

I was born in Yugoslavia (yes my Croatian friend, that was the name of it then), I moved to Belgium when I was 20. I worked in USA, Izrael, Thailand, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia, so I've spent quite a bit of time in different economies.
At the end, the same rule applied to all: The Quality of Life
To some people earning 1000 bucks in Thailand might seem way to little (my former boss is like that), while I'm perfectly happy with 1000 bucks right here in Belgium. It's not much, but I don't need more to be happy, or as one of our BHW friends said "to **ck bitches"
It however nicer to be in a 3rd world country for the most part as people are different and it's mostly warmer. But you might end up with a shity case of hepatitis like I did.
Europe has a couple of great places to live and IM from. With that I mean: good internet conection, cheap accomodation but decent social standards.
Those places being: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romaina, Bulgaria, and some countries from former USSR (Moldavia, Ukraine, Estonia etc...) and on the west coast - Portugal - very cheap
I've been able to live or travel or work at these places for a very small amount of money, while retaining high quality of life. Now I'm not into big cars and flashy flashy bling bling, so I stayed low profile regardless how much I was earning, and I like it that way.
In the USA however, I was terified at prospect of staying without money. Sure as hell, I had A LOT of dough while living there, but the idea of being broke there drove me nuts. In Europe, I've been broke so many times it became my default state, but it never bothered me.
So back to the main point, it's all about quality of life. If you like the place, it don't matter where you stay.
This bringing us to the original question OP asked: How do you deal with extra income, when you are surounded by powerty.
Two way as far as I'm concerned:
Move out of there into standard you can afford, or
Keep a low profile untill you are in position to change your life for good.
Either way, a shity place to live, envy of your landmates and fat crowbar in your head, ain't gona make that 25K Rolex show time any better that 25$ one.

4 show bratewell, well, as for me? I live in a 3rd world country. The minimum daily wage is about $7. Beat that! So earning $500-$1000 is a dream and everybody will be talking about you. Guess what? The tax revenue agency will never ever questioned where you get the money. What i earn online is not charge with any tax at all.
You can live like a king with $1,000 a month and with women both on your right and left hands. How's about that?

I love Peru as well as the states the good thing about live in a 3wc
is that you are always was in recesion the whole economy was always in recesion so when the Big recesion came you was already living the reality and worse is a good training of survival and the most important skill and to open doors is the ability to speak 2 languages

It appears someone has misinterpreted my comment as being "rude against females". The context of what I said was to prioritize wisely, i.e. putting your financial goals first and your goals of getting a girlfriend/spouse (and for those of you who are somewhat shallow, getting laid) second. Believe me, if the finances aren't straight, your relationship with your spouse will be a whole lot tougher than they would be if you were financially set. My comment had nothing to do with being disrespectful towards females - just wanted to clear that up.

I guess it depends what you do with the money - if you're making a 1st world income, and can live a decent life in the 3rd world, maybe you should be asking whether buying the car/clothes/crap is what you should be really doing.

I think I'm the first itt from Russia. From Moscow, to be more precise.
If you have high education you would expect to earn at least about $2-$3k per month net on a "traditional" job, like software developer or researcher or manager etc. Still everything is so expensive, weather is shit, traffic is terrible so I'd suggest to live here only to people who are fond of all-night clubbing and similar things. Speed of living is very high, even when compared with such cities as Paris or London.
If you live in a smaller town you would have quite a different life, but in a week I become feel bad in such sleepy towns be they Russian or for example German, whatever.
Again about traffic - sometimes it becomes really sick when you drive a distance of 40km for 5 hours (usually it takes about 1:30-2hours in peak times). I'm not kidding. This happens sometimes when some road is partially congested because of crash or in heavy snowfalls. Often you cannot take the bypass as the city has radial layout and sliced by railroads. So many people prefer to take metro instead of cars.
If you drive when road is free most people speed up to maximum allowed speed + 50km, as when you exceed allowed speed + 60 km police could revoke your license, and sometimes it takes too much money to bribe them in such cases.
Being a webmaster you would expect to have an attention from tax police after you start to cash about $2-$3k/month from cheques or Webmoney. Sometimes they disregard you at all even when you cash way greater sums, sometimes they'll try to fuck you for less. Many webmasters prefer to do pay their income tax (it's about 13% flat) or register firms, either in Russia or in offshores in countries like Cyprus or in Delaver. And no, these tax officials won't accept your bribe as you as webmaster still have too little money to offer to them. You can pay to road police tho
Also if you're webmaster, especially blackhat one, you could have quite an interest from many girls, not because you're rich, but because you do something they didn't even imagine before. Dunno why, but they like your tales about taking tops in foreign google SERP's with you viagra sites and doorways

I'm really thinking about moving to Thai. Also living in middle-sized cities in Eastern Europe, like in Prague, is nice too when you have your stable $2-$3k a month. Moving to countries like US, Germany etc is really out of question for me, as they have even less personal freedom than in Russia, where nobody fucking care about you at least. I always get shocked when hear stories from people who live in these countries about neighbours who fill a complains to police.

Migrated back to my homeland Philippines 4 years ago due to my husband being a full blooded Filipino.
I have to say we never pay a single tax to the government with our business. Its all dirty under the table corruption taking place all around.
Given $500- $1000 is luxury already.

Funny I should see this thread, becuase I just got back from a trip to a 'third world' country - I wont say which one, as I dont like people knowing my buisiness. I've visited many 'third world' countries - and anyone who is generalising them all to be shit and the west to be the only good place - is SERIOUSLY deluded. I'll be heading back in a month.
Let me tell you about one of my days:
* Wake up at 7am in my private villa on the grounds of a 5* hotel and resort. Rent costs me one fifth of the price of smaller apartment in London.
* Go for a work out in the gym which is provided for free to residents, after which I go to the private beach, along the private jetty and snorkle on a reef for an hour or so, some days i'll scuba - 15$ for the tank.
* I then do my work in the couple of hours before lunch in one of the excellent European restaurants, or if I feel like bad food, perhaps TGI's or Hard Rock. It costs maybe 5$ for an excellent meal with drinks.
* Come home and check that the maid and gardener have done an acceptable job - put away my laundered clothes.
* In the afternoon i'll probably mess around on quads in the dessert, or hang out on a boat party, at a cost of $10 for the afternoon.
* In the evening I goto one of the 3000 capacity clubs, and thanks to good friendships with the local DJ's in return for some facebook carnage - the $300 vip seats are free every night.
Now lets look at some of the other great reasons:
If you are open to new experiences, I highly recommend 2 years moving from place to place, plan well, you will have a rich life full of amazing people, places, foods, and lead a pampered healthy life. Or you can live the western way, under the man, his rules, and the dull faced robots who run from office to office.
