Beginner Question About Scraping Strategy

Hello everyone,
I'm currently coming up with a theory in my head to create a network of EMD micro-sites based on my own data, and I'd love to hear some expert opinions because I don't yet have enough real-world experience to know if it's viable or just completely dumb.
I often hear that people who scrape sites usually target places like AliExpress or similar. But I was wondering — why couldn't I just scrape my own site, which has around 1,000 products?
The idea would be to create one EMD per collection by scraping each collection separately.


The basic concept would be something like this:
imagine I have a general store, then it would look like:

• baseballcap.com
• sleepers.com
• underwear.com
• pajamas.com, etc.
  This way, I'd flood the SERPs with these mini-sites, which would be monetized and would all simultaneously redirect back to my main store.
  Again, this is purely hypothetical. Is this a ridiculous idea? lol.

This is an interesting idea, Vincent. It can be useful if done correctly. But be careful of search engine guidelines. If you create too many micro-sites, Google may see it as spam and penalize your main site. Make sure each micro-site offers unique and valuable content to users.

Thanks for your reply, I'll definitely keep that in mind!

All will be good unless big G links them all as being owned by the same guy it could all go away pretty quick.

This absolutely can work btw, I am not saying don't do it but each site will need some backlinks and at least a little promotion or they will be largely pointless. This could be more work than you think, plan it all out and try to find ways to automate every step.

I've been scraping search engines, forums, websites, basically the internet, since before I was even a member here. One of my early projects was a PBN before I'd even heard what a PBN was. I would advise to start with expired domains rather than fresh domains as some of them will get indexed super quickly.
