Ok, I've absorbed a lot of great marketing ideas in my time on this site. I understand the concepts but i'm unable to apply them to what i do. I have a financial background but want to combine it with internet marketing. Problem is, I dont even know how to make a website.

I'm not asking for someone to show me how step by step. I want to get the basics so i can apply the strategies. SEO i know i will just have to research but i need to learn the basics so i can apply the ideas.

What I dont know and want to learn how to do:

Make websites, web design, learn about basic coding, do my own craigslist postings succesfully, etc. What is a good class in college or a good 3-5 classes i can take to learn the basics. Or, if there is a good e-book or learning tool, i'm all for it. A comprehensive beginners guide i guess.

Thanks, and thanks for all the information on this site.

You start with html to learn how to make websites/

That is a very good one.

If you want your own language, just google a course.

Thank you all for the advice. Question, how realistic should i be about how long it will take me to learn this stuff? To learn enough to be able to implement most of the strategies with some advice here and there.

The more you learn the better you will be able to make websites.

I made my first website when I was learning html for 5 minutes. :D

After html you can go xhtml, css, php, java, falsh and lots more :p
