Beginner in need of advice

Hello BHW!
I've been reading this forum for a while and now it's time to take action.
I've been reading many tuts, guides and methods, but I still can't make a choice - what to start with?
The thing is that can't afford to invest any money for now. Sad story, but I can barely pay bills and buy food, so hosting, domain and seo services is not for me.
I need a headstart, few bucks to start rolling.
I can't write articles, because I'm not English and my English is quite bad.
I know photoshop (+/- intermediate level), I can make websites and write PHP (same as photoshop, still asking google some things). Recently I made content locker url shortener script for my friend. Also I'm learning video editing and After effects, I can already edit videos very well.
Don't know what to add, I'm good with computers, networking and I learn everything fast.


I will really appreciate, If you, members of BHW could give me some tips and advices on what to start with, to get some fast cash, so I could start something more serious.

Welcome to the forum Plumbum. You know things you are good at and not so good with.Now,focus on things you know. Be part of the forum and engage actively. There are people around in the forum who have issues with their websites and some with videos.Suggest them the best possible solution you know and help them resolve their issues.It helps you build your confidence as well. Business is all about money it is about solving problems for others.Once you do that people will come back to you.As you improve your reputation on the forum, bring in your skill set to the market place.If you are offering something of value,people will pay for it.But be sure that you work hard and love it as well.
 
Just use your skills and start up a few Fiverr gigs to earn initial investment.

Or... just go around your neighbourhood and cut peoples lawn's for $10 a pop. It's not that hard to come up with $100 to get yourself started.
 
Im in the same boat as you well I only make about ten dollars a month enough to buy me 2 meals. All I can is narrow down your interest pick 1 and if you don't make money in two weeks move on the next one but dont do to many at one time . When you do make money scale up ... This is the part im having promblems with but Im not crying one day I will get it and if you dont give up Im sure you will too...:cool:
 
The more I work with non-Americans, the more I realize that money does not come easy. For us in the US, we can make $100 very quickly. With some of the people I work with, they have to work 10+ days of hard manual labor to make $100 (if IM work isn't good).

So my first reaction was to cut grass. But then you said you do not speak English which must mean that you live somewhere poor where people do not cut their own grass (or you would have already done that).

How do you intend on using the hosting account? If you ask nicely, I'm sure some nice member will be happy to give you $50 to buy a year of hosting if you use their affiliate link so that they earn $100.

Email me examples of your websites. My username at gmail. I need a simple site built to serve as a landing page for the backend site that already exist.
 
Well I see some issues here, you said you cannot afford to spend any money, you will need at least a little bit of money to get started, and the fact that you say you do not speak english well, puts you at even more of a disadvantage. That is ok though, because if you are willing to work hard, you will overcome it, and probably have a better work ethic starting out because of it.

Most Newbies start out with Adsense, but unless you start out with 20+ sites, you will only be making peanuts a day. For example I started out with adsense, and didnt do well at all. I built my first Amazon site and in 1 month earned more threw amazon than I did threw adsense in 5 months.

What I would recommend is finding things that you are good at, like you said you are good with photoshop, I recommend doing fiverr gigs to make headers and graphics to raise money to pay for your hosting, domain, and to outsource your writing, because quality is key.

I live in quite poor country and here is nothing much to do. Average monthly earnings are about 400$..
No one will give $10 for cutting lawn's. They do it themselves or don't do it at all.

CoyoteAssasin Right now I'm brainstorming ideas, I can't tell where I will use hosting and domain. I'm making a list with pros and cons to see what's more suitable to me and I still don't understand many things. I't might be amazon website, I don't know yet.
As for the websites, I don't have portfolio, but I'm shure I can help you out with landing page. You can mail me plumby at gmx with details.

I guess I will agree with you all and do some gigs.

Hey, sign up over at Fiverr.com and all the things you've stated with PHP and photoshop. You're bound to make money! Welcome to the forum. You'll do well in no time.
 
I just figured out that fiverr is full of photoshop and php stuff. But there is nothing about video/after effects. That can be big + for me :)

If you want to start without investment maybe you should try with MGCash+Youtube+Blogger. It's the easiest way to get a first bucks online. If want more informations feel free to PM me :)
 
I agree with cyoteassasin. You can go with fiverr and I am sure that you can get some initial orders from BHW members and then you will get them rolling. Photoshop+illustrator+Aftereffect is killing at fiverr atm.

This is very true. However, you can compete with these guys even at 1-2 orders a day in either category. It's something.
 
You could also try posting ads on craigslist for your services or even trying freelancing sites like freelancer, 0desk, etc. You might be able to secure a few projects and get rolling. But first try to put together a small portfolio of your work and sign up for something like behance.com or heck even tumblr as a place to simply showcase your work for free.

If that doesn't work look for free video templates and go crazy on fiverr ;)
 
you can go to freelancer.com /odesk.com /fivver.com as you have skill in writting php and make website.
it's a good skill and you will make good money too.
