Because BHW members do not SPAM.

:1: send that random babaji guy to eat them all

dude remove your email and phone number from your domain registrar. They might be contacting you by looking up your site's whois info

Don't insult. Be pro active. I get many calls from India every week, as I have a customer service number on my website. It has gotten to the point where I don't answer that phone. People have to leave a message. Sad, because I am probably missing some over the phone sales. What I did was get a used android from the pawn shop. It was cheap. Then I set up groove ip and google voice to work together. Groove ip lite is free and works with wifi. I was given a free phone number. Then I went to this site, typed out my voicemail, and recorded it with my phone. http://www.oddcast.com/home/demos/tts/tts_example.php I can listen to my voicemails through the phone, or read them at google voice. Google Voice also allows you to block a phone number, so I block all sales calls. Everything is free, and I am no longer bothered by sales calls.

Every legitimate business gets calls from other businesses trying to sell them something... that is how many people build up their clientele.

Dorothy has a great way to deal with that if you do not want to politely tell them to not call.

I personally don't use a phone very often (one of the benefits of having hearing issues) so it is not much of an issue for me but you may be thinking those calls are nothing but spam (they usually are) and a good IMer just ignores spam.

I deleted your comment about the particular nationality and the F bomb in my quote.

I've gotten 2 calls so far for SEO. First one I recorded w/ Vocaroo. Guy tried convincing me he has the latest HTML links which are stronger than the old PHP links..

I dont understand why people get so pissed about telemarketing calls. every time I get a call, the moment I feel like it's a telemarketer I hang up. no arguing "thanks but I am not interested" no "take me off your list" no "that sounds interesting but I am kind of busy now"
after I hang up I block their number.

I don't get why people get pissed at sales calls at all! We are all trying to sell something whether its websites, services, physical products, digital products etc. They are trying to do a job the same as all of us.

Sure it can be annoying to be interrupted when you are working but quite simply do not answer if you are that busy.

I worked as a sales rep for years and the least accommodating people were..........

Yes you guessed it...... SALES REPS.

I've had them a lot recenetly too. The thing that annoys me is that when I specifically ask them to take my details of their database I still get calls from them. Now it's just got to the stage that I'll fire the kettle on and tell them I brb.

I usually do the same, one time a guy pissed and called me back just to ask why you hang up the phone!? I hung up again, he kept calling me back a few times then finally gave up.

well you can clearly filter them out, just by hearing "Hi" or "Hello" from them.

I switched over to the method I posted above when someone from India called with the Microsoft scam. I knew right off the bat, but some people like the elderly are not computer savvy. When I gave him a piece of my mind about scamming people, he said "We love to make fools out of the Americans because they are so stupid." Mind you, this was about a week after my mother's elderly friend lost about 7k in that same scam, so I went off on him.

Horrible. Just like all the random sales calls I get, so it's just getting used to it or doing what RR suggested.

By the way, does this mean you'll stop answering my booty calls as well?
