Been Dropshipping for a little while. Paypal problems.

I started drop shipping for a month or two and got decent at it until I had to sell off everything to take care of family problems.

Fast forward later I started a new account and told my first item from pure dropship. Paypal put a hold on my item that screwed me and I had to refund the buyer.

Is their anyway around this or any helpful advice on this matter? Anything you recommend? I plan to have a few eBay accounts for different markets.

more details needed, why did playpal put a hold on your account?
 
I am also in to dropship and paypal and 2checkout works just fine. Never heard something like that. Experienced same with ebay not pp.

If you are interested instead saying don't know why not to find out what it is. It's one of 2nd tier major payment services in the world. Least alternative for PP.
 
Anyone have any pointers on getting rid of this paypal holding for funds?
 
How long ago was your last PayPal transaction as a seller, prior to this one? They put holds on accounts that haven't sold anything in awhile. That standard procedure with them.

It's been a few months.
 
If you can afford it buy 10-20 cheap items to resell on eBay to warm your PayPal account up again. That's how I would do it.

What if I did digital photos to bid on? I've seen people do that to help their feedback.
 
paypal keep track on you transaction rate so if they see you rate raise they hold it to verify the source,good luck in your journey

Personally, I would sell something with a shipping tracking number. PayPal uses that to confirm that customer received the product, thus initiating the release of funds. That's how I remember it being done.

1. eBay is sort of wise to this trick now
2. feedbacks do not matter, only completed sales
3. building up your accounts by buying 0.01 items and then listing $200 items will trigger red flags.

PayPal does this to anyone who does a significant volume. There's no way around the reserve. Dropshipping is a risky business model and PayPal takes extra steps to ensure both the buyer and seller are happy. Did they also ask you to send them verification documents? You will be hit by a manual verification at one point and your account will be handed a rolling reserve. It's normal and the money they reserve is for safekeeping, against chargebacks and refunds. You will have to get used to it.

They just get used to it. I dropship with Aliexpress and currently, PayPal is holding around $2K of mine as a rolling reserve. The money is released after a month. I know people with over $75K in their PayPal reserves but it doesn't effect them as their main gateway is either Stripe or Shopify Payments. Oh and, Shopify Payments has a rolling reserve policy too.

So what exactly is a rolling reserve?

Basically a safe guard for returns I'm assuming.

Shit if all this is true I'm guessing its better to start with at least 1k in capital then.

They hold a certain % of sales over your previous 30, 60, or 90 day sales for a while to cover for chargebacks and returns. Pretty much all credit card processors do this for high risk accounts, not just paypal.

As far as drop shipping goes. How do people that dropship from china with 18-21 day shipping do it with paypal?

Sounds like a lot of trouble.
