If any of you Amazon affiliates out there have some tips or advice on anything to do with being an Amazon affiliate, that would be helpful.

The main thing I'd like to know about is, if I sign up to be an affiliate on the Amazon UK site, and my affiliate links are for the UK site, would a US visitor still beable to make a purchase? Basically I'm wondering if being an Amazon affiliate means only advertising to a local audience?

Thanks!

First off I wanted to say there is a tonne of information on this forum answering this question and just about any other question you would have about Amazon .. so please use the search feature first.

Answering your question - you have to sign up for each country you want to promote in and have some script to redirect the individual traffic through your referral link for that country.

Danny111 - I just had a quick read over the first page of your Amazon thread. Do you promote your Amazon sites to several countries? As for creating the script, how would this be done? Will I need to hire someone to code it for me?

I suggest you read through the whole thread (and any other 'amazon' type threads), as most of your questions are answered there, and the info. is freely available.

You could, or you could do it for free, if you take time to do some research:

Thanks Danny1, I'm going to read through the full thread, and thanks for that link - I can see talk about a plugin for doing this, that would make things so much easier.

One more question I have thought of - I still need to decide whether to choose the US domain or the UK domain. I would like the site to rank well in both the US and UK, but I'm not sure if the UK visitors would just assume it is a US website because of the US domain. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks!

If I wanted to target multiple countries (or just the USA), then I'd go for:
.com, .net, .org (in that order)

If I wanted to target UK specifically, I'd go for UK TLD's (e.g. .co.uk, .org.uk) as these tend to rank better in g**gle .co.uk.

AmazonAffiliate.club helped me greatly to start business with Amazon.
I learned how to build and promote Amazon affiliate sites. So, you can try it as well, I think))
