Hello BHW,

I've always avoided public exposure online to protect my privacy and security. However if I want to become an influencer on a particular topic. is it necesary to reveal yourself to the public?

Is it possible to become an influencer and at the same time keep your privacy?

No, not necessary to doxx yourself. US court precedents guarantee your anonymity. You can legally make $$$ without revealing anything.

You can be use a mask or makeup (like rock band Kiss) and not reveal anything about you.

Taxman and whoever processes your payments will know who you are though.
 
Using fake names when registering is against the law, but it's in your every right to have anonymity. You can use a mask like "marshmello" heavy make-up or just not show your face / edit it out like this Instagram account : https://www.instagram.com/soulaglamorous/?hl=en

Why should it not be possible. Don't know which platform you want to use, but there are a lot of People out there who are succesfull without showing their faces.

Just don't be surprised when you get asked for an ID or some other personal info you don't have.

But actually I'm more concerned about identity theft, Has anyone who's been working online for a while has had this kind of issues before?

I'm assuming it'll all depends on the kind of business we'd like to create..
