How hard is it to outrank Wikipedia for a term such as a famous persons name??
I would say that it would be almost impossible. Just test it yourself by putting a famous actor's name in Google and you will see Wikipedia and IMDB at numbers 1 & 2 usually.
Personally, I wouldn't waste my time.
Alot of wiki's ranking power comes from its internal keyword linking structure...and this is where you can knee cap a wiki pages SERPS
Normally with wiki if a n00b adds a external link to a page the wikinazis will be undoing the link within days...
The knee capping trick is to create a wiki account and discover all the internal wiki pages linking to the page you want to knee cap and edit out the [[ ]] around the keywords linking to the page...thus the page will lose alot of its wiki power. Try and hide the edits by adding some content to the edited pages.
That's not impossible, still you can overthrow that wikipedia's page I've once read a very nice post on this @ BlueHatSEO you can find it here:
I have overtaken wikipedia on medium and low competition keywords. But for something big like an actor, I would say that it's not worth the effort. Move on to a new project.
Very very hard. Think on other things.
screw wikipedia and google both in bed together
Well Angela Edwards has done it...search "Angela" on google.. without quotes
The blue hat one is one i have read before and i have seen work. but wasn't for a famous person. good luck if you try it.
this bluehat technique is a fairytale
