I came across a .org dropped domain which was not available for registration anywhere but on this site called sparrowhost.in (listed on TLDES.com).
But right after registration and payment my registration was abruptly canceled and when I created a ticket the support guy immediately addressed the concern (later I learned he's the only person running that entire site) and told me the domain is not available unfortunately (yet it was shown available only on their site, most likely to gobble up the money) and he initiated a refund.
But I never received any and despite my creating a new ticket I received no reply from him for 3 days until an hour ago after I said I'll have to issue a CC chargeback if that's what he wants (thank goodness I learned my lesson from a previous scam and I always use CC these days to pay for virtual services). He replied within a minute making up excuses about his site going through some maintenance issues and so on. He asked for my UPI ID to issue an immediate manual refund (which he did). Pretty sure my chargeback threat got him to issue the refund. He operates from my country and unfortunately scummy people like these make the rest of us honest people look bad.
I looked up some reviews and amongst the fake bought reviews the few honest ones all say the same thing: this site took their money under the pretense of already registered domains being available for registration then dipped).
So be cautious if you avail of their services, especially when their site has started popping up in recommendations on random tld price ticker websites.
