I found this yesterday:

"On Google's Safe Browsing page for bit.ly, which is the domain for URLs shortened by Bitly, Google says part of the site has been listed for "suspicious activity" 31 times over the past 90 days."

I am afraid it was a reason many of my accounts got permanently suspended on Oct.16 without following anyone. All the links to my sites were shortened with bitly. When you click on it red window opens with warning - malicious website ahead... So in Twitter eyes it's a huge sin - malicious activity and permanent suspension as a result

Right now bitly is working fine but how do you know when it'll be blocked again

in that case goo.gl would be safer.. oh lol now i understand why google lists bit.ly as suspicious activity :)

Yep!! Its like Firefox not using Google as it's default search engine
because Google has Chrome and they are the competition.

When Firefox switched to Yahoo Google's search traffic dropped by 17% LOL

No worries, Chrome is better than FF anyway. :P

If you're not comfortable with bit.ly there are other link shortener out there that you can use. Sharesly is a good one that I use. Nevertheless, Like someone said above its a game of monopoly and nothing else.

You can use google's shortlink service. And if there is game of monopoly, you will be the safest one :P
