They really are on a banning spree. Someone made a thread earlier today so I checked on my accounts and they were fine...but they weren't following as much as they should've

One of my accounts follows followers of @girlposts. When I notice its not following off of that page, I check up on it and sure enough @girlposts was suspended. That page had over 1 million followers on Twitter so this kind of worries me

I only scrape big players in my niches that are known in public. Most of them are "verified".
The others are providing some nice stuff for their community. No image/repost stuff.
 
I mass follow off verified accounts too, but you have a better chance getting followers from people that arent verified

1 million? more like almost 6M, although it's true, that 6 is over 1 too lol

but it can be, that it isn't gone forever and it was just a mistake from twitter's part

big pages get the boot day by day, maybe not this big though
i usually scrape the followers of 30 bigger accounts every day, bigger i mean with few hundred thousand followers mostly, it means i need 30 new accounts daily, because those don't have that many new followers i need daily and i notice from time to time, that in that small time frame which is between me deciding which account i want to scrape from and the actual scraping, so a few hours practically, accounts are gone

so my point is, be careful, yes, but i don't think that anything has really changed, at least my accs are still standing, business as usual, if anything, i get less password reset requests lately
 
I havent had password resets at all since the beginning of my 'journey'. But thats because I've done a lot of reading and taken all of your guys advice lol I don't even touch the accounts after I log into them from a certain proxy.

& I also try to scrape pages that have 100,000's and not millions because a lot of those huge pages get fake/bot followers. A page that has 100,000 followers one day and 100,200 the next looks pretty legit to me

i'm just getting the password resets, because i push my accs to the limit, 1k follow, 1k unfollow daily :), but i still don't get too many pw resets compared to this, 0-2/day/100 accs, if an account gets locked beyond repair, i just replace it, for my purpose an account with 0 followers is just as good as an account with many followers, i just need them to follow/unfollow at least 100k/day total and i think i'll put some liking in the mix too

btw do you do liking? i believe the limit is 1k/day with that too, i'll try it with a few accs and see if i get more pw resets, i guess i will lol

my idea is that if i won't get too many password requests and i can like 100k/day besides following 100k, even if liking has somewhat weaker effect than following, i can increase my reach to 150%, maybe not, it's just a theory at the moment
 
I don't do liking at all or even do cross promotion between the accounts. I don't wanna do anything that makes the accounts look botted or too spammy

be careful with liking :
at the beginning of my journey, I liked at the max possible using twitter API (so, not far from 1k/day)
I did this 1 or 2 days, then my API got locked (not my account, which was legit)
certainly been reported as it was spammy (I liked people tweeting my niche KW)
 
GirlPosts gets suspended often. They engage in some kind of fuckery.
 
@GirlPosts is up again, but dutchie is right, they are desperate and banning/blocking/suspending like a hell now! Five or more of my accounts were requested phone verification in last days (they weren't phone verified). And I was following manually (less than 300 follows per hour).
 
Looks like they're just going after adult.

Don't worry about doing mainstream as they tend to have a keen eye with refining that sector in particular.
 
Yeah, ignore my original post. I didn't know this was routine. Also, its easy to retrieve your accounts if you work with Twitter support. Since creating this thread I've been running some projects where none of my pages got banned. So, fingers crossed!
 
As ridiculous as that sounds, it could be true. It'd make sense. Disrupt those fuckers from planning shit

Actually to add a bit more, they did mention on CNBC that 500,000 twitter handles were shut down because of the involvement + association of I.S.I.S .

Despite that, keep your activities as legitimate / manual as possible in case they are advancing their algorithm.

As of now there have been additional reports of clearances of account so be sure to fine tune your process.

Do you mean that you got a temporary block on liking or that you can't like at all anymore? Because a temporary 24 hr block is self-explanatory, if you hit the 1k/day limit, i'm hitting the 1k limit every day with following, so the accs get blocked for 20-24 hours from following. Is this the case with liking too or do they disable the liking ability for good?
 
Twitter is trying to get new users. Everyone is comparing them to Facebook (that's ridiculous) and they get pressure from their investors. So I guess they want to increase the overall experience of everyone. Porn, harassment, fake celebrity accounts, isis... anyone not providing genuine and solid content could be targeted.

Why would it be strange? If ESPN has 5 million followers. Those 5 million people are TARGETED followers. They want to hear what ESPN has to say. They probably watch ESPN. They probably go on ESPN's website. These people are invested into the ESPN brand

Why would I follow people who follow ESPN?

There are smaller sports pages that aren't verified.. Maybe an ESPN Parody page, or a 'sports facts' page. This is the same audience I want to target. The difference is they're not heavily invested in a brand and extremely targeted like ESPN's followers would be.


Make a Kim Kardashian parody account. Guarantee you'll get more Kim Kardashian fans from a Kim Kardashian fan page than you would from following off of Kim Kardashian.
