Be Careful about Free Stuff!

I'm seeing a lot of people here offering free services like a free Twitter blast to their tens of thousand of followers or a free SB blast. Now, kudos to these people who are really offering them with no strings attached. At least they're giving something back.

However, we can't deny the fact that not all of them are doing it just to give something back to the community. It's possible that some of them are trying to steal niches.

All I'm saying is, don't jump at every free stuff that's offered here. Check to see if you can trust the one offering the free service. At the very least, check if the free service is worth exposing your niche.

Again, kudos to those offering free services just to give something back.

Edited to add: Be careful as well with people telling you to PM your URL to them so they can "take a look" and offer "advice". This usually happens when someone, usually a newbie, is asking questions about his site.

I don't mind people seeing some of my sites. They'll have hard time competing
with me anyways. I actually love reverse engineering other people's promotions
myself...

So there's no threat for you so it can be worth the risk for you.

But for us newbies, it's a little risky.
 
Very good point indeed... A lot of people are taken away by such free offers... Its a man eat man world out there :)

Nope. It is a mindset thing. Newbie or not, doesn't matter. This
abundance mentality versus scarcity mentality. There are so
many opportunities to make money that if you take everything
form me I'll take another opportunity and make it all back. If you
hold on to one thing and scared that someone would steal it,
guess what, it usually happens.

It is not about your experience, it is about how you think about
opportunities. Look at everything around you as an opportunity
to make money. You'll be surprised how many you'll see.
 
I can't believe I hadn't thought of that. I don't need them so I don't pay attention to the threads. But newbies beware. If you can't do these blasts yourself, and someone else can, then they can just as easily outrank you if they choose to, they have a lot more experience.

Keep in mind though to everyone, this is just the same with paid services too. If you pay for something don't expect that suddenly the person is trustworthy. On BHW we have trusted services threads but on fiverr be more careful of newer users. Look for gigs with repeat customers.

I beg to differ. It's much different if you have an aged site and you've been working on it for years. But for me, I'm just new to this and an experienced marketer can steal my niche and outrank my new site.

I agree that there are a lot of other opportunities to make money out there and I am looking for them. But that doesn't mean that I should give easy access to people who I think can steal my ideas.

I agree. Especially with Fiverr. Heck, someone can just open a cheap gig saying that they can do a 100,000 SB blast for 5 bucks. They'll not do it of course. They'll just steal ideas from the orders. They'll be banned. But they'll end up with profitable niches. Thanks for adding to the discussion.
 
What I believe is there isn't such "free hamburger" anywhere in this world. Someone give away something to get something in return. And that return can be good or bad depends on whom you are make deal with....
