bbb.org

How many of you use or recommend bbb.org for your local businesses for ranking and anything else in general?

BBB.org is a pretty good citation source but you can add a business to it without paying it's just a little different per location.

It may be a no follow link but for local SEO like GMB it helps rank because of it's citation value which a citation is merely the mention of the business NAP (Name, Address, and phone number) some say website too but it's not as important as the other 3. No follow links also still can send traffic so it's beneficial but like I said as far as paying the value there is gaining audiences trust but if you're in business long enough you still can get a rating and gain trust.

We have our business listed with it.

Now it is true that the link with them will rank for a few search terms. But looking back accross our history we have never had a lead that came in from the site and place an order.

So you kind of have to way the value of that listing and what you pay.

Now if you are trying to stand out and make yourself look better than others sure its great to say we are BBB certified. Now if you are closing local business and using this when you meet with customers one on one then that takes on a whole new meaning.

You have to keep in mind what works for one might not work for you. On avg I would plan on it in your budget about 50 bucks a month. If you can afford that with no issue I would say go ahead and do it. Now if that is going to stretch you then I would say hold off. As there is other things you can do with that same 50 bucks that will bring customers in the door.
