A lot of you marketers that are relatively new to making money online usually leave out the tip that I'm going to share that was pretty much a game changer for my business. I was already making good income but after I implemented this simple extra step I started seeing a lot more money coming in for very little extra effort.

The tip is that you have to "capture the customer". Most of you when your doing affiliate marketing are making sales and commissions but your building someone else's customer base and not your own. Of course you do this by adding a first step for the traffic you create which provides a way for them to opt into your list. Just offer them something of value and your golden. The best way is to offer them something that would compliment the main product that your trying to get them to buy. That way if they don't end up buying you can still follow up with them and they are more likely to purchase down the road, especially if you keep bringing it to their attention. Studies show that most people take 5 to 9 times of seeing or hearing about something before actually making the purchase which shows how powerful the follow up emails can be.

When creating a way for the customer to opt-in there are many ways to do this. You can either send them to a stand alone squeeze page first, have a floating opt-in over your affiliate page, or send them first to your own website with a review about the product and you can then offer additional extras when they purchase through your page but even if they don't purchase you can have a opt-in box still offering something of value.

The basic idea is that you need to "capture the customer" so you can then follow up with them. Doing this to all of your marketing efforts is almost guaranteed to dramatically increase your income. The best part is it will keep increasing as you keep building your contact list. Make sure you find ways to keep your list happy by offering them free info or products of value and preferably that will keep them engaged.

Beter email captures go hand in hand with a solid good product and service and some really nice incentive offers to help entice. I'd track beahvior patterns of my customers to see what type of ad copy and incentives motivate them to buy the most from me (best response per customer, not customers).

Yes, you need something of value that will make them give up their real email address and tracking of course should always be used whenever possible. Big companies track the smallest of details.

Yeah, I do this on a few niches with the help of leadpages and aweber.

Very lucrative especially if you're buying leads from various traffic sources.

Yeah Leadpages is great but not everyone wants to pay the monthly cost when they're first starting out.

There are many alternatives out there to leadpages if you don't have the money to fork over for a monthly fee.
