You might want to go the extra mile and bookmark your backlinks so they're sure to get indexed and actually count as a backlink.
I like to backlink my backlinks and then bookmark and ping both.
Don't forget to submit your RSS feeds to directories. You can also create mash ups of feeds with places like yahoo pipes and submit those.
